Hi, this is my first post here so hopefully this isn't a redundant topic here. I decided a couple days ago to renew my quest to get better at having lucid dreams, I have them on and off but it's pretty random so far. I haven't focused on it since a few years back, just been sort of let things happen when they happen. Getting back in touch with my dreams lately I've become aware that one of my most common reoccurring nightmares, that I tend to experience possibly every night even, could maybe be an opportunity to both become lucid and face a big fear at the same time.

The dream is about being involved in a violent automobile or plane crash. I was in a relatively minor car crash a couple years ago and since then the dreams have probably doubled in frequency, making for some pretty unpleasant nightly moments. It's a little different every time but terrifying nonetheless.

I've been reading about dreamsigns in LaBerge's book the last couple days and thinking about mine, and this is maybe the most obvious one, if that would count as a dreamsign(?). The problem is, it is something that I am absolutely terrified of in real life, and although I might not fly that often, I do drive a lot. Maybe you can deduce my question at this point but, would it be wise to focus on other less troubling dreamsigns as a beginner or is this as good as anything, being that it's one of the most persistent, and something I should figure out how to face, and if so, how? There's usually nothing particularly otherworldly about the situations, they are things that I could plausibly happen, if I was extraordinarily unlucky, or simply not paying attention while driving in the wrong moment... any advice?

Thanks!
Adam
