      Stabilizing Dreams

      Hello, Dreamviews.

The past two nights, I've had dreams in which I flipped a switch or something similar that caused me to feel my body in my bed. I tried to stabilize each time by looking at my hands, grabbing stuff around me, and spinning, but it doesn't get rid of the sensation of lying in bed.

In each of these cases, I am still in my dream setting, but I don't feel anything around me. If I touch something, I have to think about what it should feel like or else I won't feel it. I can only see things that I am focusing my vision on and thinking about. Even these things have missing details. If I try to move, though, I don't move in real life.

Has this ever happened to anyone? If it has, does anyone have any tips for stabilizing from this point?

For stabilization it seems that rubbing your hands can work the best. You just have to be sure you really focus on the friction it causes; the heat from said friction and the texture of your hands. If you just mindlessly rub your hands or preform any stabilization/RC then they likely won't work. The clarity and vividness of the dream is all based on your mind.

Also, instead of grabbing stuff around you try focusing on the things around you. Feel is a good way to start but you have to incorporate the other 4 senses: how it looks, what noise it makes, how it smells, and how it tastes (not necessarily this one). One more technique you could try is to shout "clarity" or any variation of the word to try and increase how clear the dream is.

Thanks, I'll try doing this the next time this happens.
