Basically all you have to do is go in a bath or a pool and hold your breath for as long as possible and oxygenate and revitalize your brain.
Alot of people have tried this method and it seems to be working them.
Tell me if it works for you.
Hmm that sounds like a something that can finally motivate me to go swimming. Oh well I guess I will try that out :P
Well I usually take a shower before I go to bed, but I guess I'll have to take a bath then from now on. I'll give it a try :cheeky:
how is holding your breath oxygenating your brain? seems the exact opposite to me, you'd nee to hyperventilate.

Hey guys, Try holding your breath a cold shower,bath, or pool. Cold showers improve your blood circulation, which means more blood to your brain. It just seems like combining the two will produce superb results.
Also, try doing headstands so that blood will flow to your head.
Instead of oxygen it could be prana instead.
Another variation that produces results for some people; with practice of course:
Block your right nostril and breath through your left nostril normally fifty times and go to sleep. Good with WBTB for producing vivid dreams and lucidity.
Thanks! I'll do 100. It seems like getting oxygen/prana/chi/etc is one of the easiest and most efficient ways to lucid dream. Oxygenating your brain has also been shown to increase your IQ a few points as well.Quote:

I thought about that and tried, It didn't help. I also swam but didn't hold my breath and any time during the swimming session which also didn't do anything. It seems like you need to combine water and oxygen for increased vivid dream recallQuote:

It won't hurt you to hold your breath some but I wouldn't make it a regular routine. Honestly what you're doing sounds dangerous if it's done often. To give you an example, kids huff gasoline because it deprives their brains of oxygen and creates a "high." Depriving your brain of oxygen will kill brain cells. What you could do is try some breathing exercises, most people actually breathe the wrong way, and over time it can starve your brain/body of oxygen. You should inhale through your nostrils very deeply for about 5-6 seconds, making sure to completely fill the lungs, let the air stay in for just under 1 second, and exhale out the mouth for about 5-6 seconds.

I had a lucid dream a few days ago, Either that or it was astral projection into the 4th dimension.
Yeah I'm not sure what effect the water would have in a shower. I mean with a poll there is more pressure on your lungs and it's cold. So to try and imitate that i took a cold shower and held my breath.Quote:

So i was swimming in my pool yesterday, and for a while, just chillaxing for maybe half an hour, and right as i was about to exit via the ladder, I thought about the technique. I held my breath completely submerged in water, for as long as i could, then did it again and got out. This was at arounf 5:30 PM. I went to bed at 10:00 PM. I realized i was dreaming, because i was more aware, and spiderman crawling on glass doors didn't seem normal to me. I do not know how this works, but it does. The BEST DILD technique around. This sounds like it wouldnt work, but some people here actually have had success! It's definitely an interesting concept...if this works for you please tell us!
Hmmm, many people reporting it works! Could it be a placebo effect, or really something that works? I can understand how holding your breath would effect your brain, I just can't link the water submerging, unless like someone said it is a meditation type thing. I will try tonight, and report back!
See, what i thought was, no way this bullshit is going to work, but second lucid ever and first in a month or more. Maybe something we dont understnd is happening. Also an important thing is that I was thinking about lucidity and all that stuff.

I dont think the cold water is needed. My pool is 90 degrees Farienheit, which is a warm as it gets in pools mostly. All that matters is that you think about lucid dreaming. Maybe its a good time to set your intentions. I will back out of giving instructions now, as it isnt my idea so bye

I would think just holding your breath would have the same effect, id say a good meditation for this would be to inhale slowly then hold your breath for 20 seconds or how ever long you want then exhale and hold you breath for the same amount of time.
repeating as much as you feel necessary. Used to do this before training in martial arts made me feel great :)
Cold water is great for stimulating all your senses including your ethereal body, whenever I jump in some cold water I always feel tranquil and energized. Great for clearing out bad energies . I also will feel this pulsing around the brain stem area, get that whenever I'm feeling high off myself.

Placebo effect. If this works at all, it does it by building expectation. And that is what may increase alertness. Physiologically, this can do nothing but increase your heart rate for a couple minutes.
That's not enough to say it has an effect on them lucid dreaming, more people say they have been abducted by aliens than that all the time, doesn't mean they actually have, the point is 3 people experiencing lucid dreams the night after doing this does not mean it works, it's an uncontrolled experiment, how are we to know how many people have actually tried it, or that it isn't a placebo? Controlled breathing opens the channels of energy throughout the body. The muscles respond to oxygen and the energy body in turn responds to the muscles through which electricity is channeled.
Plugging a nostril with a finger focuses our mind to the right or the left. This also focuses the energy. Becoming balanced in mind is a great help to awareness. One can use breathing techniques to alter the experience rather than using experience to alter breathing/emotions.

This is not morning but it will work. I didn't had any lucid dreams but I got sick (for taking a cold shower, lucky me!) and my dream vividness was a bit better compared to older dreams.
I would say that this method does work and doesn't work at the same time.
How i did this method? I hold my breath 2 times till I got uncomfortable (I counted to 20 in my mind) about 30 minutes after shower I went to sleep. I did that left nostril breathing for 50 times then laying in bed.
Yet, people are still ignoring this useful method... why am I not surprised?

Struggling to see how the effects of submersion could still, if at all, affect the brain so many hours later into the night. Could well be placebo.
Either way, placebo or not, the causal factor doesn't seem relevant if it induces LD's. Ill try tonight.
So I decided to try this out last night, not really expecting it to work. I did it around 21:00, and when I took my 04:00 nap, this happened. It seems too weird for me to have my first lucid experience right after trying this method, so I'm going to go ahead and guess that it worked. I'm going to have to try this more and see what happens.
