Basically all you have to do is go in a bath or a pool and hold your breath for as long as possible and oxygenate and revitalize your brain.

Alot of people have tried this method and it seems to be working them.

Tell me if it works for you.

Well I usually take a shower before I go to bed, but I guess I'll have to take a bath then from now on. I'll give it a try

how is holding your breath oxygenating your brain? seems the exact opposite to me, you'd nee to hyperventilate.

Because instead of letting the oxygen escape your lungs immediately your letting it stay and let it work its way up to your brain. Which increases your awareness. And when you have good awareness you'll know your dreaming.

Hey guys, Try holding your breath a cold shower, bath, or pool. Cold showers improve your blood circulation, which means more blood to your brain. It just seems like combining the two will produce superb results.

Also, try doing headstands so that blood will flow to your head.

Instead of oxygen it could be prana instead.

Another variation that produces results for some people; with practice of course:

Block your right nostril and breath through your left nostril normally fifty times and go to sleep. Good with WBTB for producing vivid dreams and lucidity.

Thanks! I'll do 100. It seems like getting oxygen/prana/chi/etc is one of the easiest and most efficient ways to lucid dream. Oxygenating your brain has also been shown to increase your IQ a few points as well.

Fifty is plenty, you don't want to overdo pranayama exercises

That's not how it works at all.

When you have a lack of oxygen, or in this case holding your breath, your brain reacts by releasing endorphins so you relax. This is why autoerotic asphixation works; your brain is deprived of a steady flow of fresh oxygen, so it panics.

When you inhale deeply, the oxygen you take in is instantly absorbed through your lungs as soon as it gets in there, hence breathing. Once it enters your blood stream, the blood is oxygenated and goes to all the organs and brain. I may be skipping a lot of steps since it's been a while since I had basic biology.

I thought about that and tried, It didn't help. I also swam but didn't hold my breath and any time during the swimming session which also didn't do anything. It seems like you need to combine water and oxygen for increased vivid dream recall

and to the other guy, Yeah I'm stupid I should hold my breath some more so i can get smarter.

It won't hurt you to hold your breath some but I wouldn't make it a regular routine. Honestly what you're doing sounds dangerous if it's done often. To give you an example, kids huff gasoline because it deprives their brains of oxygen and creates a "high." Depriving your brain of oxygen will kill brain cells. What you could do is try some breathing exercises, most people actually breathe the wrong way, and over time it can starve your brain/body of oxygen. You should inhale through your nostrils very deeply for about 5-6 seconds, making sure to completely fill the lungs, let the air stay in for just under 1 second, and exhale out the mouth for about 5-6 seconds.
“The Wheel of Time turns, and Ages come and pass, leaving memories that become legend. Legend fades to myth, and even myth is long forgotten when the Age that gave it birth comes again.”

I can't see how the 2 would link. If holding your breath out of water doesn't oxygenate your brain, how does the water?

your OP said to do it in a bath. so you're saying holding your breath from being in the pool to all the time later when you go to bed, your brain is still oxygenated? sorry, that's crap. Holding your breath for that one breath will only result in you then having to breath harder on the next one, and your heart rate will increase, and you'll be as far from dropping off to sleep - never mind dream - as you can get.

Awesome, I took a cold shower yesterday and held my breath 2X times. and then i breathed through my right nostril about 100 times. It didn't work for me though. I must've done something wrong. I must've done a number on my body. Or maybe it was because I wasn't trying to have a WILD

I'm glad that these techniques are of use to people and I'm not full of bs. But the credit goes to the guy that first did it in an Australian pool. I hope were onto something here.

Also did you do this right before sleeping?

I had a lucid dream a few days ago, Either that or it was astral projection into the 4th dimension.

Yeah I'm not sure what effect the water would have in a shower. I mean with a poll there is more pressure on your lungs and it's cold. So to try and imitate that i took a cold shower and held my breath.

Incredible. That's all there is to say about it.

I might as well tell my story:
So i was swimming in my pool yesterday, and for a while, just chillaxing for maybe half an hour, and right as i was about to exit via the ladder, I thought about the technique. I thought, "Ok ill do it, but it's stupid it wont work." Motherfucking wrong everybody. Motherfucking WRONG! I held my breath completely submerged in water, for as long as i could, then did it again and got out. This was at arounf 5:30 PM. I went to bed at 10:00 PM. As said in the thread, i had my second and longest DILD, about 40 minutes long, in the early hours of the morning. I realized i was dreaming, because i was more aware, and spiderman crawling on glass doors didn't seem normal to me. I do not know how this works, but it does. The BEST DILD technique around. NO effort, and INSTANT results. THANKYOU

Hmmm, many people reporting it works! Could it be a placebo effect, or really something that works? I can understand how holding your breath would effect your brain, I just can't link the water submerging, unless like someone said it is a meditation type thing. I will try tonight, and report back!
