      I'll have to try this.

I had a cold shower, held my breath a handful of times, and when I went to bed I blocked my right nostril and breathed in through my left fifty times. I had my most vivid LD yet later that night. That brings my total up to 6.

Just as I pointed out the breathing exercise works most effectively when practiced regularly

Ok so a few people got it working. I'm going to try to hold my breath in a cold shower and after this going to block my right nostril and breath 50 times right before going to sleep. Going to post my results in the morning.

This is not morning but it will work. I didn't had any lucid dreams but I got sick (for taking a cold shower, lucky me!) and my dream vividness was a bit better compared to older dreams.
I would say that this method does work and doesn't work at the same time.
How i did this method? I hold my breath 2 times till I got uncomfortable (I counted to 20 in my mind) about 30 minutes after shower I went to sleep. I did that left nostril breathing for 50 times then laying in bed.

Yet, people are still ignoring this useful method... why am I not surprised?

@DotEtc You forgot right nostril breathing!!

Struggling to see how the effects of submersion could still, if at all, affect the brain so many hours later into the night. Could well be placebo.

Either way, placebo or not, the causal factor doesn't seem relevant if it induces LD's. Ill try tonight.

So I decided to try this out last night, not really expecting it to work. I did it around 21:00, and when I took my 04:00 nap, this happened. It seems too weird for me to have my first lucid experience right after trying this method, so I'm going to go ahead and guess that it worked. I'm going to have to try this more and see what happens.

Cool, Brace yourself though because there's going to be a bunch of naysayers calling this technique another "Placebo".

      is this safe ?
Check your memory, did any suprising event happpen ? does the present make sense ? visualize what you will do when lucid, and how. Reality check as reminder of your intention to lucid dream tonight. Sleep as good as you can; when going to sleep, relax and invite whatever comes with curiosity. Grab your dream journal immediately as you awake and write everything you can recall (if only when you wake up for good). Keep calm, positive and persistent, and don't forget to have fun along the way

its hilarious how some people say this won't work while so many people are having their very first lucids from this very method. Would it be possible to call this the DRILD method? (Dive Reflex Induced Lucid Dream)

Sure, Cold showers and daily swims are for you. And it hasn't killed anyone since we've tried it.

I like that name, Thanks for your input. I have theory on why it works so well, The increased blood-flow + stimulated alertness+oxygenation of the brain+diving reflex= Very lucid dreams or near lucid vivid dreams.

You might of obtained maximum effective had you tried it while swimming or taking a cold shower.
