      Almost got there!

So I just got done with my 20 minute nap (I sleep polyphasically) and I just about had a successful WILD! The funny part is, it wasn't a WBTB, and it was unintentional. But basically, I was in that weird state where I was half dreaming and half awake, so I didn't even really realize that I was awake. I was driving a car in the dream (oddly enough, I remembered reading something on this website about how cars in dreams don't really work, and then suddenly I was in the backseat with the steering wheel still there and stuff. I was sort of like "Hey, I'm dreaming" but I was still aware of my body lying down, so I just kind of rolled with it. Suddenly, I had this really weird feeling of leaning back, like the seat I was in was reclining or something but weirder. In a split second, I was suddenly aware that I was lying there, awake, but a bunch of those HI things that I read about hit me at once. I started vibrating, I heard growling in my ear (not really scary though), I felt a wave go through my body like I was on a rollercoaster, and I could see my room in black and white through my closed eyes. I guess I started thinking about it too much, or got too nervous/excited, because the image went away. I thought maybe I was dreaming, so I moved and felt all of those senses sort of suck out of me like a vacuum, which was really weird. I did an RC and was awake

But still, progress! I haven't even been attempting lucid dreams for very long, and I've been pretty lazy, so getting this far is pretty surprising to me. I'm pretty excited that I can maybe WILD without doing a WBTB, too. Just wanted to share my first lucid experience

      Congrats on first lucid dream!
I occasionally have similar experiences of being half awake/half dreaming during my WILD naps as well.

Do not try and bend the spoon--that's impossible. Instead only try and realize the truth...there is no spoon. Then you will see that it is not the spoon that bends
