I almost had it last night !! brief help

Ok... I tried the tapping two fingers thing last night and I think I almost had it or maybe I did. I was laying in bed and after about a minute started to hear lots of whispering and people smacking their lips... i started to see black spots around my room and a light flash infront of me.... at first i thought i must have imagined the light because i wanted to go lucid....but then it very clearly flashed really big infront of me... its the first time its ever happened to me so it really shocked me and next thing i knew i jumped out of bed with my heart pounding... i was terrified. I didn't do a reality check.

I'm trying again tonight and I've taken some B6 to maybe help a little. Any suggestions on getting through a little further ?

The thing ive noticed with the flash of light is, it either happens right before your about to enter a dream or see some REAL Hi which is also right before the dream. or it happens when you wake up for no reason, you suddenly realise your still awake and the white flash appears and ur now fully awake, no longer drifting away.

hmm, i think that you should just stay calm and watch it all go by. just try and keep yourself calm and relaxed when things surprise you. just sorta drift through it all.

Yup, those hallucinations can be pretty convincing. I remember having them a long time ago before I knew about lucid dreaming - it was freakin scary.

Anyway, definitely remind yourself that you're safe - no matter what you see or hear. You just have to convince yourself of this before you hit the sack. Sometimes, you can even use these sensory imputs to your advantage. Make up a story in your mind with them. Something pleasant, of course. Eventually you'll start to picture a scene along with the sounds, like you're watching a play. Next thing you know, you'll feel absolutely convinced it's real - and when you do, that's when you do your reality check.

      good luck!

[i]PS-- I try B6 as well. Keep in mind, B6 helps with dream vividness and not necessarily becoming lucid. Also, Magnesium works well when taken along with B6.

I came close last night, and I tried twice. The first time I experienced SP in the legs, and I knew I was close. I was seeing some HI (like an evil truck smiling at me with it's grill, and a cement mixer driving in reverse on an angle across to the road, crossing all lanes at once). I fell asleep .

Then at 2AM I could not fall asleep until after 4AM, so I tried the counting down technique to relax me, and I saw a magenta flash then a yellow flash. They were similar to strobe lights. Then I had two vivid dreams, but I don't believe they were lucid or correlated.

I'm getting closer too. I usually can tell I'm seeing HI because it does not take up my full range of vision (the background is usally missing). Also the images only last for up to a second, then disappear.

By the way, what is the tapping the two fingers thing? (It's probably self-explanatory and simple, like counting down backwards).

Can i just add that, you can also use St John's Wort or Ginkgo Biloba capsules to increase lucidity and dream recall, it's very good for clarity and memory,

You might need to take more than 2 capsules for St John's Wort, as one is not enough to work effectively, and take it during the afternoon.

PS- You MIGHT feel melancholic, if you wake up 5 hours for WBTB, if you take more than 2 capsules

i hope that helps anyone having problems with dream recall or lucidity , i know i do lol

i actually completed a WILD the other day finally and i didnt hear or see anythng until i just suddonly appeared in my dream for about 10 seconds then came back out of it sadly. when i was first trying WILD i used to freak out all the time too. my heart use to race beyond fast and i would stop. now it doesnt do that anymore for some reason. i guess you get used to it after a few tries and it stops racing. also dont confuse your heart racing with feeling vibrations. the other day it seemed like my heart was going a mile a minute but then i figured it was just the vibrations and i noticed my pulse while having my hands on my stomach and it was nice and slow. also when you are deeper in WILD you become more sensitive to your heart and feelings so it may seem like its pounding incredibly hard but its not any harder than normal. it just seems that way. GOOD LUCK!
