Thread: Possible stage of WILD?

Well wannabe, had you been drinking heavily before going to bed, that is what we would call "spinning room". Below is an exerpt from a scientific explanation of spinning room:

...Either way, blobs of jelly in each of your inner ears are responsible for your balance. When you move your head, the blob of jelly moves, and this triggers tiny hairs (which are attached to the jelly) into bending. When these hairs bend, they give off electricity, which runs into the VIIIth Cranial Nerve, and then into your brain - and suddenly you have the sensation that you're moving.

It seems that when you drink a little too much, the alcohol (which is a terrific solvent) gets into your blood stream, and then into the cupola, where it change its density. This distorts the shape of the cupola, and makes it bend those little hairs. These hairs then send an electrical signal to your brain that you are undergoing some kind of rotary acceleration - or in plain English, that the room around you is spinning. This effect is stronger when you are on your bed in a darkened room, and there are no other signals (such as from your eyes) to tell you that the room is, in fact, perfectly still...


If you were not drinking, then the same area of your inner ear must have been affected by something else, maybe part of the regular sleep paralisys process of drifting off to sleep.

very strange. Maybe it was some form of sleep paralysis? Some people experience different types of sleep paralysis. other than that, i really dont know

I've had the same exact thing happen trying to WILD... it's a pretty weird feeling, its like the falling sensation people talk about but you're just spinning or falling and spinning... seems like you can sort of turn it on and off as you lay there if you try.
