Believe me, it is completely natural to get that feeling. As for it being the early stages of a lucid dream, it can be if you want it to. The sensation you describes is the onset of your body falling to sleep. Many people who practice the WILD technique(basically letting your body fall asleep before your mind) experience that kind of feeling every time they try it and they actually use it as a stepping stone or a "trail marker" if that makes any sense. It shows that you are stepping in the right direction. Instead of trying to ignore it, I would suggest using it as something to let you know your closer to falling asleep and dreaming.
