      Am I WILDing?

When i go to sleep, i will be lying and my legs go dead,i guess i can feel where they are touching on the bed kind of, but not really. its a weird sensation, where i cant move them either. Although if i try hard and actually TRY to move them, i can hop out of bed. I also close my eyes and see light patterns, etc. when i go to sleep i can really easily become realaxed in my bed. Eventually i will realize that i am "dreaming" , like i will realize that i can still hear my airconditioner although i know i must be dreaming because i am experiencing something like a dream ( fantasies or something completely unreal), This usually starts out with me thinking about a topic that would vary, and then suddenly i realize that im sort of in the dream state, but also knowing that i am in bed. I cannot control my dream. One time i heard this really weird sound ( like a drop of water dropping) and that startled me completely and i sat up in bed. All of this happens within a relatively short time frame. Im new to the whole "trying to LD" experience, but what i described has been going oon about for a month. Am i coming close to WILD? sorry if my paragraph was jumbled but i didnt know how or in which order to describe most things.

i forgot to add that sometimes after i am extremely relaxed and in this state i can feel my eyes rappidly twitch...

I can never remember being lucid but I have read alot about Lucid Dreaming & everything close to it. & by your story you are in Wake Initiated Lucid Dreaming. In WILD your whole body goes parlysis & you should see patterns same as if you would close on your eyes & press on your closed eyes with your fingers. I have never heard of people feeling there eyes twitching but in WILD when you fall asleep you go straight into REM (Rapid Eye Movement) unlike when you go to sleep you have to wait at least 6 hours for REM. As soon as you fall asleep you should have a dream so be ready but dont get too excited or you will lose the dream & if you do start spinning your dream body around to keep the dream going. Hope this helps you.

i dont think u have to wait 6 hours for rem to start. it starts after an hour and a half for the first of maybe 6 REM periods a night. thats why u want to try wild after 5 hours of sleep because REM starts almost instantly at that point.

proof of what? i already said rem starts right away after 5 hours.

that link didnt say REM wont start until 5 hours. it just says the rem periods are shorter until then. rem starts after an hour and a half. search google images for rem cycles.

there are REM periods during the first 5 hours of sleep. They are just very short. The reason its ideal to do LD stuff after 5-6 hours of sleep is because around 7-9 hours of sleep you get LONG REM periods, thus longer dreams.

I probably repeated one of you guys, but thats just to clear it up
