      First induced dream.

I used to have a lot of lucid dreams before that were natural. Now I haven't had any for a few years and want to induce one. What I'm wondering is what technique should I use and what tips do you have. I thought I should do a DILD by WBTB. I thought it would be good to go this way because from what I remember, I used to look at my hands a lot, and on top of that I am very skeptical(which make DILD's a hell of a lot easier naturally), so when I would wake up and go back to sleep I would remember the dreams, go through them somewhat consciously and (sometimes) have lucid dreams. I'm pretty sure the technique is alright for me, but what tips do you have and are there any stupid mistakes I should avoid.

A DILD is not a technique, is a type of lucid dream that begins when you're dreaming, as opposed to WILD which you begin the lucid dream by falling asleep consciously In order to obtain a DILD, you can use several techniques (like MILD, ADA, Tholey). But keep doing whatever you are doing at the moment if it gives lucid dreams: results are all what matter, and not the method When inducing lucid dreams, you can always grab the best of each technique and mix it up for best personal results. If you see some "trick" that sounds right to you, then go ahead and try it. Experimentation plays a huge role.

Try reading this guide written by Mancon, it has pretty good information towards the topic of choosing a technique and loads of links towards each one. Your actions of looking at hands often and being very skeptical of your surroundings are great habits to have, keep doing them

Also, moving this to Attaining Lucidity.

Trying out MILD? This is how you become skilled at it.

Thanks for the help, I'm going to attempt CrazyInsane's "CAN-WILD", this method is a lot like the natural method I used to do, except that I am being woken by an alarm, not my body. I don't even know if it is a proper method but it is basically what happened to me naturally, so I will try it.

You need to discover those techniques once again.
