      Well...here you go...

      The M.I.L.D. Technique

The M.I.L.D. technique was developed by Dr. Steven LaBerge at Stanford University and is copyrighted by The Lucidity Institute. This technique was devised while LaBerge was writting his doctoral dissertation on lucid dreaming. He needed to come up with a method of inducing lucid dreams in test subjects. After careful experimentation and assistance from his collegue Lunn Levitan, the M.I.L.D. technique was born. M.I.L.D. is an acronym for Mnemonic Induction of Lucid Dreams. There are four steps to this method.

Step One - Setup Dream Recall:

Program yourself to recall as much of your dreams as possible when you awaken from them.

Step Two - Focus Your Intent:

While returning to sleep, concentrate on your intention to remember to recognize you are dreaming. Repeat to yourself, "The next time I am dreaming, I will realize I am dreaming." Think about the words as you say them, donīt just repeat them meaninglessly. Focus your intent on this idea alone. If you find your mind wandering, clear your mind and continue to repeat the phrase.

Step Three - See Yourself Becoming Lucid:

As you continue to focus on your intention to remember to realize you are dreaming, imagine that you are back in the dream from which you just awoke, or another you have had recentlyi if you are just going to sleep or donīt remember a dream apon awakening. Visualize the dream from a first person perspective. This time, though, imagine that you realize you are dreaming. Look for a dream sign (something within the dream that sets it apart from waking reality.) When you see it say to yourself, "I am dreaming!" and continue with your visualization. Imagine that you then carry out the plans you have for your next lucid dream. (i.e. Flying, looking for a spirit guide, travelling to Mars, etc..)

Step Four - Repeat Until Your Intent is Set:

Repeat steps two and three until you either fall asleep or you feel confident that your intent is set. While you fade into sleep, if you find your mind wandering or thinking about anything else, repeat step two or three. The last thought on your mind before you enter sleep should be your intent to realize you are in a drean the next time you are dreaming

The next one is from someone in the forum but i dont remember who... if you see it tell me, to add the name

      WILD

I started having WILD's years ago unintentionally (see my other post). Seems others are having trouble. If I follow these steps I will have a WILD just about every time.

-sleep for at least 4 hours
-wake up COMPLETELY and do something (like read, go on the computer) for at least one hour; your mind must be very active
-go back to sleep and relax and think about something enjoyable; keep your mind busy
-when you start to get drowsy again (if you're like me it takes a while) prepare for WILD
-get very comfortable and don't move; use earplugs so you can concentrate on your heartbeat and on the patterns on the back of your eyelids
-think about motion - roller coaster, driving a fast car - really try to feel it
      -stay relaxed!!!
-you may hear sounds and see colourful patterns; stay relaxed - you're close
-your thoughts may waver, go back to the part about thinking about motion
-you will start to see textured patterns, feel like you are falling (right at the brink of sleep) and start to hear rushing sounds - do not fight the feeling
-if you managed to get this far you will now be in a lucid dream - if you are like me, usually you will be moving/flying and know you are dreaming or you will have a false awakening, so do a reality check
-I have had the other type of lucid dreams (DILD's) but I find WILD's are much easier to control once lucid

To those who awaken themselves - stay relaxed - remember you are supposed to fall asleep. The key is to snap back to your logical mind once you feel like falling and hear the rushing sound. Perhaps reminding/repeating this to yourself as you fall asleep will help. But remember the point is still to fall asleep but not your logical mind.
      ----------------------------------------------------
Keep talking to yourself in your mind for starters. But dont overflow yourself like for instance with the crazy 1 im dreaming, 2 im dreaming,3 im dreaming etc. Thats crap. You have to make sure you actually KNOW what you are thinking. Letting all your thoughts flow isnt good either because you wil start thinking random things and eventually you either go out cold or go like *snap damn i gotta keep thinking straight* and you start all over again.. you have to relax and closely monitor your mind.
Slowly talk to yourself and once again know what you are saying, the best would be doing some MILDS but stuff like \"I am going into a dream in a moment\".. \"simply relax, its all going well\" .. \"Just let it all go..\" ..
This is useful for beginners, the talking to yourself, comfort yourself its all going to be ok, you could also picture a loved or trusted one talking to you comforting you with his/her voice. This way you are being even more passive, but your mind wont wonder of. (later on this all isnt nessasary anymore)

Now relaxation exersises are useful, just relax all parts of your body one by one, the better you get it at the easier it will go. Tell yourself your body is getting weak, heavy and warm. But your mind is getting more aware and powerful. Picture energy from your body going to your mind, empowering your mind and astral body. Its not nessasary to lie on your back, you can do it all positions, just be comfertable.

Visualisation is good if you cant bring up the hypnotic imagery. I use the flame lotus but frankly, you can use anything. You can picture a book floating in front of you, or a basketball, or dollar bill. Doesnt matter, the flame lotus is just good because it is very detailed, the more detail something has the better(a flame and a flower have lots of detail) , but also the harder. You can also picture yourself walking around somewhere, or even better driving a car. Feel your hands on the wheel, hear the car roar, see the road pass by. That might work aswell(I dont do it but it might work)
This is usefull with MILDs, picture yourself in your previous non lucid dream and picture yourself spotting a dream sign and becoming lucid, then do some imagery with the dream. (flying works good, watch the clouds pass by, or space.) What might work extremely well is invoking a falling sensation..people seem to have succes with that. Imagine yourself falling down a endless black nothing. But the downside is you will probally end up falling downwhere in a dream or in the void(limbo land) and without any experience that might result in something not so usefull.
