      a WILD ride

Ok, so I didnt WILD all the way yet, but here's what happened...

This morning while I was using the WBTB method I got closer than ever to a successfull WILD. I was only trying to use MILD to induce a lucid dream since that has been working really well for me lately (lucids 4 out of 5 days trying). I had started to drift off into sleep when I realized the signs of a WILD coming on. My body felt stiff but I could feel waves of energy going through me. I tried telling myself to just calm down and ride the waves and at first I was, but the closer I got the harder my heart was beating until it felt like a drum inside my chest. The feeling subsided but I stayed still and told my body to relax again and I was soon having the same wave feeling as before but I must have been to excited again because they went away also. As a last effort I though maybe I had made it and just not realized, but that was shot down as soon as my reality check told me I was awake. I still ended up having a lucid dream this morning so the night wasn't a waste.

If anyone could give me some pointers on what I might want to think of or focus on next time this situation happens so that I dont over react and wake myself up from the WILD.
During the actual waves, there were no Hypnagogic images, just me and my body. Thats about it... all in all it was a very interesting morning for me!

I find myself doing that sometimes. You feel the vibrations and know that you are seconds away, get exited, then they fade

All you can really do is to relay. Sometimes it helps to daydream about the vibrations. Visualize(but don't concentrate too hard) that you are flying through force fields on your way to somewhere.
you must be the change you wish to see in the world...

      Thanx seeker,
I like the idea of visualizing myself going through forcefields. I think having something to think of besides excitement might help me relax through it and into a dream. I'll try it next time I get the chance. catch ya on the flip side.

I have been praciticing my WILD technique and it's been going very well, can WILD often and with little effort, but last night was different. After meditating for nearly an hour and a half, which is unusual because sometimes I can go in under 10 minutes, I could not get past the vibrations. One thing that does help me sometimes is to gently shake my head from side to side and allow your body to rock with your head, after awhile you will kind of create your own vibration, at the same time you must keep your relaxed mental state and do not focus heavily on keeping your body in motion. Over time I find that I unconsciously stop making my body move and am experiencing the common vibrations felt before WILD. Instead of getting all excited and riled up, just try to lose your body in the feeling, do not mentally focus on anything, basically, do not consciously think at all. Let your mind go until you experience some type of dream imagery. When you see the imagery, again, don't get all jumpy let it go until you have a stable dream scene around you, only at this time should you excite your mind by allowing yourself to know you have successfully WILD'ed. Don't spend alot of time marveling over your accomplishment or you might wake up..instead let yourself be absorbed by the dream world and just start experiencing before it's all over.

Sorry if some of it sounds confusing, I've never had to really explain it to anyone in words. Let me know if any of this helped, or if you need clarification on anything.

I'll listen to anyone who can help, and I thank you for taking the time. I will definately try rocking my head. I can see how that might help, I'll have to try it on my next wild attempt. And just so you know, I think what you wrote was perfectly clear and I understood all of it, thanx again for your help.

rocking head, on my to do list.

i just got up from a wild attempt and did feel slight vibrations, but i gave up and when i stood up, i felt the strongest vibrations. even walking through my house i could still feel them going through my whole body. maybe im "feeling" them but not actually feeling them while its happening. you know kind of like when you can see the flashes of light like a vibration sometimes.

i think the easiest way to get lucid would have to be to, only sleep for mabe 4 or 5 hours. then wait for an evening nap when you feel drowsy. instant wild/dild. i guess ill find out tomorrow.

I'm glad I could help, and that you could understand me

Please let me know how to rocking goes, you too JayDawg, because I've never heard of anyone doing anything like that before, except as an aid in maintaining lucidity which i read in one excerpt from a man's letter in one of Stephen Laberge's books.
It works for me, and I used to do it as a kid all the time to make myself start dreaming.

BTW, before i try it, is it more of a "NO" nod or like a a leaning right to left nod.

Oh yea, sorry for not elaborating! Yes, it's more of a "NO" type of nod. Lay flat on your back with your head on a pillow and gently shake your head no from side to side of the pillow, let your body follow.
