      Yet another WILD tutorial

Well, not a tutorial, more of an advice list... so, I assume you've read the other WILD tutorials before, as background material at least. I've been able to WILD pretty consistently every other morning now, and want to share some wisdom. This might help lots of people, or it might help almost no one. I've found that everyone's WILD is different. Some see HI, some don't really, etc. So I'll try to steer clear of statements like "at this point, you should be hearing things"... and I most certainly won't talk about sleep paralysis, because I don't experience that separately from vibrations...

This is a bit different from the usual "lie there while performing relaxation" approach, which can lead to great frustration. Also, I'll split it into two parts, since I found there are two challenging aspects: "Getting to the vibrations" and "going from vibrations to dreaming".

      Getting to the vibrations:

I saw a thread here a while ago that said that instead of trying to relax into it consciously, just set your intent to try to WILD the minute you wake up from a dream. After trying this, I found that not only does it work, but it's a LOT more interesting than the thread made it sound. Setting your intentions to WILD right after you awaken slightly has some beneficial side-effects. I found that sometimes, when I woke up from a dream, I could feel the tingling of vibrations going away (i.e. I was aware enough earlier at the end of a dream), so it eventually becomes easier to do this.

But the other interesting thing was that if I want it hard enough, I dream, in my non-LD's, about wanting to WILD. Now, if you are not lucid, and in your dream, you close your eyes and try to wild, guess what happens... That's right, vibrations RIGHT AWAY! You could say you close your eyes and get booted from the dream, but you don't know it, since your eyes are closed, so you don't even have to worry about not moving after your dream! I don't know if this would work for everyone, but just set your intentions to WILD as soon as you wake up, and you just might.

Just be warned that there might be a chance that the dream you enter this way will be less vivid than the traditional way, but that's probably because you have to be way better at concentrating and meditation/focus to achieve the traditional way (unless you're a natural).

      Going from vibrations to dreaming:

This is the part where I was stuck the longest. The GOOD thing about the vibrations is that even if you're only a little bit awake (like, your HI has pretty much turned into a light dream that you aren't lucid in), if you do hit vibrations, and you aren't fast asleep, the intensity of the sensation will boost your awareness... sometimes too much hehe.

First tip: If the first set of vibrations fades away, don't move, and just relax. Let yourself drift a little, and breathe slower. The next set of vibrations is probably right around the corner, and it is usually stronger than the previous one.

Second tip: breathing during vibrations - This seems to be the most important aspect. If you breathe too much like someone who's conscious, you'll wake up. You want to kind of forget that you're breathing and let your body take care of it by itself. In other words, stop "pot-shaped breathing" and stop breathing deep.

      - Lie in a position that makes breathing easy. If you're crunched up in a ball or something, you're putting pressure on your lungs. If breathing requires any amount of conscious effort, you will fail to WILD.
      - I've found that if I exhale slowly, while relaxing, it intensifies the vibrations.
      - I've found that if I take a number of deep breaths, the vibrations go away
      - If I breathe shallow, short breaths, it stabilizes a little...

Play around with it... I usually exhale until my chest is completely relaxed, which causes the vibs to intensify, and then just take some shallower breaths. Hopefully, by then, the vibs are strong enough that you'll stop focusing on your breathing soon, and you'll be in!

I hope this helped some people out, it's still very experimental to me, but I'm just pointing out what seems to have worked so far. Like I said, everyone's WILD is a completely different experience, and so in the end, everyone has to figure out a lot of things for themselves. No WILD tutorial written by anyone will ever be exactly what YOU need to do; they should just be used as guidelines and advice.
