My WILD experience (pun sort of intended)

      Before reading:
I really want input from other WILDers, so if you dont feel like reading all this, skip to my last section, Summary, and give me input from there. Thanks

So I had my second WILD this morning in just my second WILD attempt. Its long, but read it. You may find some useful advice in here about Attaining Lucidity.

      The Beginning

I woke up this morning, earlier than usual, and found myself laying in bed, really tired. I figure I'd try and WILD. The focal point (the main thing I saw when my eyes were open, whether awake, WILDing, or my number of False Awakenings which I'll explain later) was my guitar case. Ignore that for now

      The Vibrations Begin!

After just a few seconds with my eyes closed and saying to myself "I'm dreaming" the vibrations began. I felt that "evil prescense" people speak of in WILDs. I saw a face in black in white, but it never changed/moved, so I wasn't scared of it. The rushing sound was loud and I knew I was near a dream.

Waking up in a Dream is a Wonderful thing

After a while of the vibrations, still seeing the face, i thought to myself "OK, if I open my eyes, will I still see the face?" I opened them and there it was infront of my guitar case, and I thought to myself "OK, time to get up."

I got out of bed, and I could feel myself ripping away from my body. The vibrations stopped and then I knew I was in a dream. Lucidity right from the start of it. It was an awesome experience. I saw amazing things I could never see in real life. I went into my den and said "curtains open" and they didn't. So I said "clarity now, curtain open" and on the other side of the window I saw the most beautiful view of an ocean side town. I knew I had to fly over it, and thats what I did.

      Hands Rubbing Togeter

I noticed when the dream started fading (especially when I first got into it because I was so excited I almost woke myself up) I noticed that hands would almost disappear when I looked at them. Rubbing them together made them reappear and everything became so vivid.

      Dream Scene Change

How I am absolutely sure that I was lucid was that I woke up into vibrations again. I really wanted to wake up so I could remember my wonderful dream. About 10 times in a row, the vibrations would stop, I would open my eyes and see my guitar case. And every time one of my eyes would close and the case would get fuzzy, and I knew that if I got up I would be in a dream. So I continuely tried to get up falling into FAs. Luckily (I guess ) I began to druel (RL druel) and I focused on the feeling of it and that woke me up Who knows how long I would have woken up into FAs!!

      Summary of what I did

      Went to sleep normally.
      Woke up early.
While still really, really tired, concentrated my mind on staying awake.
      Closed my eyes.
      Still concentrated.
      Vibrations began.
      Got up in dream world

Let me know if this is similar to other peoples experiences with WILD.

Also, will I always wake up in my own bed if I do this?

Oh I forgot to mention. I knew I was finally in a dream when I felt the sensation that I was falling off my bed. Not rolling, just slowly moving to the edge of it. I remember someone here mentioning that so that may have subconsciously triggered that happening. Either way, i think it helped reassure me that I was in a dream and allowed me to get up and get the LD going

Oh, and for anyone who plays World of Warcraft, the ocean side town I saw I think was Ratchet, and I had all the powers of my character from the game (except my character isn't supposed to fly ).

Ha, World of Warcraft in your dreams. I used to play, but recently cancelled my account. That sounds like a great experience and I hope I can have dreams that vivid.

hah! i dream about everquest2 sometimes!

also, a lot of my dreams seem to have very realistic bump mapping and water reflections and specular lighting in them. ive never noticed them before in dreams. now that i notice them in all these new games that are out, its like my dreams have more resources to work with. like a beautiful dreamscape with a mix of halo and farcry. it was amazingly vivid

Yeah now imagine being Lucid in a dream like that. That's what it was, I was flying over this beautiful world (which wasn't actually like the real game world, but was "based" off of it I guess)

I found a darker area of the map, Like a dungeon or something And I flew down to it, but I realized when I flew down that I flew down onto the map, not the world, so I closed my eyes and said "let me into this place" and It zoomed in more and more and I was finally inside, and I got to use all my awesome character abilities and wooped some dragons and stuff. IT was a blast.

I did my first WILD last night ( or...this morning) on accident.
I woke up in the middle of the night ( 3:30a.m.), and I went into the kitchen and had some oreos and milk. Then I just sat there in the kitchen, for a while thinking. I wasnt very tired, and I didnt know what else to do that early in the morning.

At about 4:45 I decided to go back to bed. I felt a strange feeling sweep over me twice.
Then a few moments later, I felt strong vibrations. . . then the vibrations stopped. . .

Then they started again even stronger, and longer lasting until I felt and saw that I was drifting into a dream.
