I had about 20 lucid dreams recorded in my old journal so I looked through to see if there was any particular type of dream that was more likely to become lucid . I saw a clear pattern which other dreamers may have too .I have mostly 'movie' type dreams with lots of action and excitement and these (apart from 1) never become lucid however bizarre ,because there is so much going on I am too caught up in chasing aliens fighting zombies and whatever to see any dream signs .I am just carried along by the action . (As in any good movie , my disbelief is suspended) . The dream-type that does become lucid are the ones where nothing much happens . I just seem to be in a darkened room either just woke up or lying in bed . Then I find the light won't work or the room is not quite right and try to understand what is going on . It seems to be this opportunity to reflect and rationalise is what triggers lucidity .The problem then is that unlike the 'movie' dreams I am stuck in a dark room with not much going on.and as lucidity doesnt = control I have to work hard to get outside and do anything interesting . |
