Something came to me the other day

When I was a lot younger than I am today - blimey, that makes me sound really old and I'm not....perhaps I should start again...!!!

Before I reached my mid-teens, I used to ask myself a lot 'am I dreaming' or 'how can I tell this isn't a dream'. I guess I must have been performing reality checks, and can vaguely remember that I was quite lucid in dreams, although now I can't remember much...

It's amazing what society can do to you when you're younger - the fact it tries to conform you without you realising... putting the boundaries in slyly in your mind without you noticing....

Been pulling them down for a couple of years now, but still keep finding ones that suprise me.
This reality is like a goldfish bowl. The dreamworld is the same, but larger. It's easy to get lost.

      Hi Maystar

I truly believe that I had the equivalent of LDs when I was a kid. I can still remember some of those epic dreams - one where I had a pet dragon that was practically feature length! I NEVER woke up thinking "hmm, what was I dreaming about last night?" and I remember many a dream where I would say "you can't hurt me, this is only a dream" and I would be able to fly around and move things etc.

I wish it were so easy now!

I remember...a long time ago before I knew abou lucid dreaming, I remember I was starting to get interested in dreams...I noticed one night that I had this dream about being chased by wolves, and they would run up next to me and run into me...I remember that I could feel their fur...and they felt warm...I was so amazed that I could actually feel in dreams.

I cant remember feeling much during dream other then the cool sensation from the 'melting' glass on my face when you go trough it... which is why I tried it twice now ^,^

      Same here.

I've long fantasized about the potential of dreams...before knowing about lucid dreaming, I used to wish they were "Matrix-esque"...turns out they are!
I believe I've always had a certain level of lucidity, because I too can remember a handful of very vivid dreams from before anything really made sense to me - before awareness got ahold of me.
I miss those days...lots... mainly because if you think about it, the lack of awareness pretty much negates the fact that you're even alive.

      awareness is they key.

even my dad (who is a dr of physics) started chatting to me the other night and stessed that awareness was essential...it was nice to hear some of the things he said.

dream journal is underway now and thanks to Gestalt, i think it is for the great link in the message he left - so here it is.

i have 2 use to have very good/vivid/lucid dreams while i was younger. then i started to get really involved with dream interpretation and then lucid dreaming. then from there my dreams started to fade to like 1-3 regular dreams a night...
