Stress can have a Huge effect on dreaming, unfortunately. I'm kinda in the same boat. I've been working so hard lately I've been getting like 5-6 hours of sleep a night, and my dream recall has gone to shit. lol. Whats worse is that sometimes I can wake up Remembering that I had a lucid dream, and only remembering a few seconds of the time I went lucid, but the rest of the dream would be completely lost. Yes...that sucks.
You could also be trying too hard. One thing you'll find out about your subconscious mind, is that it can trick you...BAD. If you worry too much about "Damnit..why isn't this working, why isn't this working?" Its almost certain that your subconscious mind will Keep it from working. The best thing to do when you feel like you're having a dry spell after trying to lucid dream, especially when stressed, is to stop trying. Take a few days, or maybe a week or so, and just worry about normal, restful sleep. Then get back into it when your mind isn't so stressed and scattered.
And odds are, once you get the burden of Trying to lucid dream out of your head, you'll most likely have an LD when you're not even thinking about it.
