My lucid dreams are becoming increasingly deceptive

It seems lately my lucid dreams are becoming so so so realistic, ordinary and vivid that I can hardly convince myself that it's really a dream. This night I became lucid while watching outside a window of my room, but what happened next was unexpected. I tried dozens of reality checks to confirm it to myself but they all failed?!

Looked at my hands, nothing special here.
Tried to put my finger through my hands, nope.
Tried to breathe to my nose while I pinched it with my fingers, nope.
Tried to recall when I had waken up, I did in my dream.
      etc. etc.

Has anyone experienced this extreme deceptiveness from your own dream?
Expectations influence it heavily but my expectations failed me this time.

Yeah, I actually had that experience this last morning.
It's really confusing when you wake up and feel like it should be waking life, and then wake up again, this time for real.

I think it's very important to check for small inconsistencies that are significant enough to be reliable dreamsigns.
For example, your bedroom might have different dimensions, like broader and thinner or something, and the doors in your house might be somewhere else and lead to slightly different rooms, or your bed might even be turned 90° to the side for no sensible reason.

Yeah, that's a problem I also run into sometimes. I do my RC and confirm it's a dream but it's just so realistic that after 3 minutes or so I'm too scared to do anything weird as I think it might be reality...
If you read this do a reality check, you will thank me later...

Have you tried Jumping when in doubt?

usually if you think to jump and float you'll at least have some amazing air time.

I don't like to do this as a first test, as so many times I realize I'm dreaming, don't bother to RC at all
jump and half fail, destabilize, fail to escape the void and wake, Gone in 30 seconds style.

But if you already know your dreaming floating in the air is pretty confirmatory.

Good suggestions guys, I'm aware of how to test my dreams.
The thing is, I think it's really fascinating that from time to time I can't rely on my expectations and I wonder why this is.
