Not sure about this but i think that when you are aware in your dreams you can see and question things that look wrong/weird. Usually you would just ignore those things because everything feels so real that you think it cant be a dream. + when you are in a dream, you normally never think about that this might be a dream. You just think that everything it real. But when you are aware, you always have the thought in your mind that this all could be a dream and you start questioning your surroundings and do some reality checks. |

I think the difference between RL awareness and dream awareness is that in normal dreams the conscious brain is pretty doped up and slow, so getting the conscious part to have that "ah-ha" moment is the key to lucid dreaming. I've not really cracked it yet, or I'd be getting lucid a lot more often, but often the lucid moments for me have been something unusual where it's been enough to jolt the conscious brain. Often very bizarre things go unnoticed, but slightly less bizarre things have triggered lucidity in me. |
