      WILD without sleep

      hey there!
I learnt of lucid dreaming a few days ago from a friend (then "remembered" id experienced them before if that makes sense) anyway since then iv tried a couple of techniques such as reality testing and been pretty succesful. i tried to wild last night without sleeping for 5 hours first- the 1st time i did it i started seeing these really weird images, but i got scared and woke up, the second time i sort of vibrated and saw lights but then it went black, is this sort of stuff normal? should u only wild after sleep? thanks!

I really recommend you use the Search on the forums for all of the above.

Did you WILD going to sleep 5 hours later than usual?? Don't know if anyone proposed such a technique but I've never heard of it. Usually WILDing is done when going to sleep normally. The analogy of it after waking up in the middle of the night is called WBTB (Wake Back To Bed) but there's really A LOT to tell so look around the forums and use the search and you'll find it all.

Yes it is possible, and I do it regularly. I have gotten to the HI stages, audio hallucination and the movement sensations EXTREME ones.... Its quite easy, you just have to have commitment and no fear. Do what you did before, dont expect anything to happen just let it flow and you'll be wilding in no time.

Ps-merlock, its quite a common topic around here
God, grant me the courage the change the things I can, the serenity to accept the things I can't, and the wisdom to know the difference...

I find if i'm too tired i have no hope of WILDing. I need most of my concentration to stay conscious.

I tried WILDing for the first time last night without waking up in the middle of the night and think I got into the first stage of it but felt myself too concious and my body wouldn't fall asleep or something. I starting feeling vibrations and numbness and some weird images (like a black vortex or something) but nothing beyond that. I tried to keep focusing on my breathing but it didn't work. Eventually I got frustrated and fell asleep.

      Not Sleeping

Every night I WILD without going to sleep first. It's a good way to practice. For example, if you can't get up in the middle of the night easily but somehow one night you do it, then you try to WILD then you might have a high chance of failing because it's your first time. If you catch my meaning

yes, alot of people may not be able to wake up in the middle of the night without an alarm clock. A lot of people need to use the alarm clock to get up for school or work and therefore cant use it. i cant really work on lucid dreaming during school. There have been many times where i go to sleep late and saw all these images and colors ( this was b4 i knew about lucid dreaming)

WILD (wake-initiated lucid dream) is a technique to lucid dream. Basically you try to fall asleep while you remain conscious. If you succeed your mind will be "awake" while your body is asleep.
Check this tutorial for more information.
