      Pretending to be LDing

Some folks, me included, like to imagine they are becoming lucid during the day. It is a good exercise( Sometimes i feel like i know in my gut that i will become lucid for having done this exercise*)

But of course one knows to be awake, not dreaming.
The fun is to challenge that certainty, and keep telling yourself that you are dreaming. And almost make yourself confused.
      Just dont overdo it !

      * i think it has something to do with hypnosis or trance

Check your memory, did any suprising event happpen ? does the present make sense ? visualize what you will do when lucid, and how. Reality check as reminder of your intention to lucid dream tonight. Sleep as good as you can; when going to sleep, relax and invite whatever comes with curiosity. Grab your dream journal immediately as you awake and write everything you can recall (if only when you wake up for good). Keep calm, positive and persistent, and don't forget to have fun along the way

I like to imagine I am flying whenever I walk somewhere... and sporadically jump expecting to lift off!

      Hey,
This is a fun thing to do, and makes you excited about lucid dreaming, but will it help achieve lucidity? I mean, in dreams you generally do what happens when you're awake. So you could dream of being "lucid" (flying etc. without actually knowing you're dreaming), which has happened to me a lot and made me very frustrated.
This is just my opinion, please correct me if you think I'm wrong.

Hmm, i think you can pretend to be lucid dreaming in a non lucid, yes, but it is rare and the good thing is it can also be a lucidty trigger because at some point you can really become lucid, and you start laughing.
And yes this exercise is helpful specially if you do it with the mindset of reality checking.
