      Trouble with Lucidity

Right now, I am having excellent recall, usually about 3 long and vivid dreams everynight. I am doing reality checks and doing the plugging the nose thing. I drink tea before bed and usually read on here for around 30 min to an hour or so. I have been doing this for close to a month and only one lucid dream. I am wondering wether it will just take more time, or if I am mildly 'preset' so that lucidity is difficult. By doing these things I have had one lucid dream but only one in about a year. It seems like I am doing everything I can but lucidity still doesn't come. I love having the recall and now that it is consistent, I hope to be able to realize that I am dreaming more often. A lot of my dreams have outrageous stuff or signs that should really tell me that I am dreaming but they never seem to 'click' into place. Any suggestions?

Whenever I've tried lucid dremaing I've got completely obsessed with it and its all i can think about and I keep thinking about what I'll do when i begin to lucid dream etc. but never really had any. I had excellent dream recall, tried all the different techniques etc but my efforts never paid off.
I normally ended up sort of giving up cos it seemed hopeless but thats when i got lucid dreams! I think its the trying too hard bit and wanting it so bad u create a sort of mental block. Now i just suggest to myself before going to sleep 'try and recognise when youre dreaming' as if its no big task and no big deal. Try just taking a step back and taking it real lightheartedly (if u can!!)

That's good solid advice. I find that I use this in a lot of activities I may be having trouble in. I recommend it too.
