If *you are constantly setting you alarm clock before bed at night this might work for you.
Simply do a reality check everytime you see or think of your alarm clock. The most common thing for me is, I awake (in a dream) because I forgot to set it and I reset it then go back to bed. If I had simply done a RT I would have become lucid. *Just a suggestion..... feedback?
Good suggestion for those who have repeated dreams of doing some action. Get into the habit of always doing a reality check when you do it in waking life, then you'll probably soon find yourself asking the same question in your dream.
I do set my alarm clock every night, but have never dreamed about it.
On the topic of alarm clocks, I always wake up 10 minutes before my alarm clock is supposed to go off. Even if I've gotten 6 hours sleep, 8, or 10! It's probably because I hat the buzzing sound so much. I just turn off the timer and spend that extra 10 minutes writting down my dreams for that night.
