ALWAYS DO A REALIY CHECK ON WILD!!!

Had a really weird one this morning. Awoke around 5:45 or so to relieve my bladder. Thought it would be a great time to WILD, so I began. The lights behind my eyes were forming, soon I had HI. As things ogressed, I felt my wife rubbing my head. Soon she was pulling and pushing so vigorousl that my head was really moving back and forth.

It was OK thoug, i felt it was helping my WILD. Then I heard the dog barking!

BAD DOG! for ruining it for me. I got up and went to the window. Out in the yard, the cat was bleeding from a mortal wound and here were two horses in my back yard!

      I NEVER QUESTIONED IT!

Moral of the story: Always reality check upon WILD!
you must be the change you wish to see in the world...

It's tough to bring someone back that never really lived.

Another good idea would be not to just reality check during a WILD, but every time u wake up or get up from your bed. Once this becomes 2nd nature you will most likely never have a non-lucid FA again =D

      Poor Seeker.

For the last week or two, I've had the same problem. How can I be expected to WILD sucessfully if there's a pink octupus on my face and the giant chicken outside my door is crying yet again at the top of its voice?

You wouldn't believe my bad luck.

The best thing you can do is keep on trying! You almost had it, & that is highly impressive, Seeker. And that was kind of your wife to help you out along the way. Morning really is the best time to do it (less distractions). Though sometimes some RCs can fail me in certain LDs (like clocks, books, current events, & so on ), there are many things you could use as a RC during this time [which is why I never lose it for very long if I ever do]....(how about your occupied bed, maybe your clothing, having dream characteristics, etc)
And I really hate it if an animal/person ruins my concentration/LD/...?[that will make me feel weird, & bolt back to bed to wake up in an instant]. If anyone dares disturb me during this time, it is advised that they have a death wish. I have beaten up my trusted cat who sleeps on me if he does this, then I kick him out of my room.
And if anyone puts a false RC out for me, they are DEAD!! Every morning, I always begin to RC, & this has helped many times in FAs, but one time, my mom swapped the Gnome statue I had for another one. Thinking that the RC was clear, I went to her & said, "Am I dreaming?" She said, "And what makes you say that?" I said, "B/c the gnome statue swapped positions in the living room.." Then my mom started to laugh, & I got really ticked at her!!

I'll take that moral one step further, and say: "Always reality check upon WILD, and upon waking up from a dream in the middle of the night", as this is the best way to catch that next false awakening, which could occur at any time when you least expect it.

Now for the hard part, remembering to do it.
