      Can't do checks in dreams

      When I'm in a dream, there's no way I can do a reality check, becuase I seem to have NO control over what I'm doing. It's like watching movie. I have no affect on the outcome of what is going on. Will this get better with time, or are there methods I should try to increase awareness in my dream without actually being lucid first?

      There's no way you can decide to do a reality check in a dream where you are totally non-lucid. The trick to RC's is that you have to make them part of your life, doing them rather often while awake. Chances are that your dream just happens to perform one and thereby trigger lucidity. They are also very nice for when you have doubts whether you are dreaming or not, and to test if an awakening is true or false.
      So, if you want to increase the chances of you doing a RC in a dream, you have to do them in real life as well.

      i used to have the same problem as you but after i started doing rc's constantly i did it in my dreams. the hard part at first is realizing the rc points to dreaming
      (Since regaining interest in LDs)
