      That is a few interesting replies there 8) and leads me to be able to conduct an easy experiment which I had not thought to do. I regularly dream perhaps 2 or 3 dreams per night - usually depending on the number of times I wake during the night, but just lately and most annoyingly none of the have been lucid.

      My bedside light I fitted to a dimmer switch as the main switch in the lead was not easy to reach and in order to have the light bright enough to read in the evening, was a bit too bright to switch on from being in periods of total or almost total darkness. Tonight I shall leave it on its lowest level and see if it makes an difference. I'll probably be astonished at hot bright that will appear once my eyes are accustomed to the gloom!

      I think im gonna leave my lights on(or A light atleast) when I go to sleep tonight

      Ok, I have a light thats right behind my bed and its like a thing of 4 fluorescent lights, so I decided right beofre I went ot sleep to turn it on, it was a little to bright for my tastes, so I turned it away from me, and I went to sleep.



      In my dream I had One dream where I was fully lucid, then like 3 dreams where I was in and out of lucidity, then I had an FA that I realized immediatly.

      I'll have to try it again, but I hadnt had an LD for over a week, and then multiple ones tonight, I wonder if it was just coincidence, or if the light really helped

      It's tough to bring someone back that never really lived.

      Wow! That is fantastic! Not sure if I could cope with three in one night I'm over the moon if I get two in a month! Pleased to hear sucha a positive result though.

      This is very inetersting.

      However, I'm not sure it has affected me that much. My room at home is quite light in the morning because, despite being at the back of the house, the curtains are thin. But whether or not I have been having lucids I cannae say, because my recall has plummeted the past two weeks!

      I will leave the cutrains open tonight though, see if it makes much difference.

      My room in university is very dark, but I can't open the curtains because I live on the ground floor!

      This is why I like sleeping outdoors every now and again. It takes you back to the start.

      To the time before you were adapted.

      Especially if the temperatures are extreme.

      Hmm. Not a good night I'm afraid. Left light on dim, but I've had such a disturbed night it is difficult to say if it made any difference. Certainly I had dreams but they were so vague and disjointed that I cannot even understand my notes now it is morning I think I may be trying too many different experiments at the same time. I will still bear it in mind and try again.

      I have heard that sleeping with the lights on can damage your eyes. One of my friends uses glasses, and he says that it is because he sleept with the lights on when he was a kid .

      Don't believe everything you hear. This sounds like it rates up there as a myth, like the 10% of the brain thing.
      I couldn't find an exact myth bust for this, but this was close enough:
