Newbie question about th 5th hour

I haven't begun to practice the tutorials yet. I was reading about the 5th hour of sleep being a good time to try WILD. I wake up almost every night 5 hours after I fall asleep. I was wondering how many others wake up then too, before you started the LD work. I always assume it's my cortisol kicking in. I do some work with hormones and know that cortisol production begins to increase at about 3 AM and peaks at 6 AM. Are there any studies linking LD and or sleep cycles with hormone cycles too?

most everybody wakes up after each of their REM periods but they fail to notice it unless they are training themselves to bring full attention at that time. Just like forgetting your dreams throughout the night a lot of people forget these short awakenings.
