Hey there Raven, and welcome! (again )

That's called the WBTB (Wake-Back To Bed) method. It's probably one of the best methods, in that it seems to work for a lot of different people. However, it's not the only method available. See the Tutorials section for information on more methods.

Another thing...how long does it usually feel like a lucid dream lasts? If you are actually asleep for 60 mins and your lucid dream last 10 mins...does it actually seem like 10 mins? Cause Ive heard dreams are usually like 5 mins but they seem to last for hours[/b]
I believe that in most cases, dream time is about the same as real time. However, I don't think anyone can say with certainty that it works any particular way 100% of the time. Most of my lucid dreams are approximately between 5-15 minutes long.

...and I dont really understand this whole reality check thing. If your already at a point where you can stop your dream and do a RC...arent you already lucid?
Heheh -- that's the same thing I always say. Some people apparently can get so "in the habit" of doing reality checks in real life, that they will just automatically do them in dreams without being lucid. Never has worked that way for me -- with me RCs are just a way to confirm the fact that I'm dreaming once I already suspect it.
Not sure about the sleeping pills. Probably depends what kind, and how often you take them. If you can, you might try going without them for a while to see if your dream recall improves. But I understand what a nightmare (no pun intended) insomnia can be.
