      LD - only 10 seconds?

Can't seem to break this barrier.

Had a crystal clear dream about a week ago,
I was standing in a local gym, staring at myself - (not astral projection)
Nothing changed, but I KNEW I was dreaming, and found to my amusement that it all was so real.

As I walked up facing myself sitting there on the bench, everything suddenly started to fade.
I don't know if I paniced, but I did remember to start a dreamspin - hoping to rejuvenate the dream.
From that point, I have no idea what happened.

This is basicly my main problem when having these small LDs - They fade, and break up.
I just CAN'T remember what happens beyond this point - zero, nada, nothing.
I have though of having a false awakening, but I usually bust these, on to another 10 sec of lucidity.

The reason I keep fighting for LDs and asking you on this forum, is because I have a feeling that the small moments I am lucid, I even feel more lucid than when I'm awake. I feel bodyparts, I feel pain, even smell (even though I never smell anything unless I check).

Haven't even had time to summon anything

      Hey cath,

Dream spinning might not do what you expect - it's designed more for changing the scene, and so might cause you to lose lucidity.
Firstly, just try to stay calm.
And try one of these instead:

      - Find your hands on the roughest surface nearby - floor, wall or whatever. Look at your hands intently while doing this, and feel the rough surface on your hands.

      - Shout 'CLARITY' or 'LUCIDITY' or something to that effect. The first time I did this, I had this pretty bright green forcefield expand outwards around me, 'fixing' everything

If things still fade, keep in mind that there's the chance that you were unlucky and become lucid at the end of your REM period. In that case, you were fighting a near-impossible battle, as your sleep cycle wants to continue.

Sure... used to happen to me all of the time. Just hang on in there and practice some more. My longest LD so far lasted for about 2 minutes, but I make progress.

It happens to me all the time. When I figure out that I'm dreaming and I get to active, or nothing changes and than fades.

Same with me. I had my 3rd LD this morning.

Everything was so clear and bright, even my hands. I immediately wanted to change the scene and summon a certain person, but after 15 seconds I found myself with eyes opened and staring at the wall in my room. My mistake probably was, that I tried to change the scene by closing my eyes. In the dream I realized: "Shit, don't close your eyes, or the dream will fade away!" And it did.

Next time before going to sleep, write down 2-3 techniques other than spinning, you will try next and focus on them. Don't let your self get into situation, when your dream starts to fade, and you can't remember what you are supposed to do to overcome it (like my mistake with closing eyes).

Finally a MILD/DILD, because first two WILDs were just too dark and weird !!

A coinsidence that all my LD's so far involved performing SUNEYE method for 2-3 minutes before falling asleep ? Because somehow I don't believe in this chakras stuff (yet).
