      A few questions on WILD

      1. When you lie down and start to WILD does it matter if you move slightly, like move your hand or foot, or scratch your nose?

      2. Do you have to be sleeping on your back to do WILD?

      3. It's suggested that WILD be performed after sleeping for 5-6 hours, and then waking up for 60-90 mintues. Why the 60-90 minutes of wake time? Does it matter if I do it right after waking up?

      4. Can it be done at afternoon nap time, and can it be done when you first go to sleep?

Hmm... I keep forgetting my questions. Let see if I can remember some more while you answer these.

      Moe,

When I lay down, get relaxed, and let my mind drift, it doesn't matter if I move a little bit. I do TRY to stay still, but have experimented with it a number of times and have found that I can tap my finger on my chest without interrupting the little dream-like images that form before the actual dream starts. (Never tried to scratch my nose, though! )

No, you definitely do not have to be on your back to do WILD. Your brain couldn't care less what position your body is in.

It's a mystery to me why it's more effective after a period of wakefulness, but it certainly IS more effective. I'm sure it has something to do with chemical processes in the brain and/or brainwave patterns during that time frame

Afternoons naps are the absolute BEST for me to do WILD. Just this week I did it right when I went to sleep at night, but those are more rare for me.

I just found this site today, and can tell that I'm going to have lots of fun talking with all of you people!

Cool it's actually possible to WILD right when you fall asleep? Do you skip delta and just go straight to REM, or what? A lot of times when I go to bed I practice WILDing, and it's actually the times I've had the best results (body feeling heavy, shocking sensation throughout body).

I find it very difficult to enter WILD at night. I can lay there for hours, I feel WILD onset, but as soon as it happens, I focus my attention on it, and it disappears

      1. It is ok to do these minor actions, if they are preventing you from falling asleep, if you can ignore them, ignore.

      2. You can fall asleep ANY way when attempting WILD, but some people say that falling on easier, because of 'energy transfer' through your whole body from your straight spine. I suggest that you fall asleep in the most comfortable position.

      3. REM. this hour of waking mind, gets you ready to do a Wake Induced Lucid Dream. IT is good to have your brain active, so i suppose you can enter a dream very conscious.

      4. Afternoon naps only work for some people, it might help to meditate into it also...try it a few times, if it doesn't work...i dont know what to say then.

      Alright...those are my comments!

      2. I want to add that It's insanely hard to fall asleep on your back. And if you dont fall asleep very fast, be ready to lay motionless for at least 45min-1 hour.
Time can be significantly shortened if you enter a light "daydream" while waiting for WILD to occur, but I dont know how to do it. However I it's working very nice.
