      2 WILDs in 2 nights

I have been practicing WILD for about 2 weeks and finally I was able to get a full one that lasted longer than a couple of seconds. So far I have had 2 in a row (1 each day). The only problem is that they only last about 6-10 minutes and then it fades out and I wake up. I know they are not false awakenings because I always check. Any suggestions for prolonging WILD if I am able to do one again tonight?

Try spinning when your dream seems to fade : )

If spinning doesn't work, try rubbing your hands together.

can anyone tell me how in the world you're supposed to fall asleep while focusing. whenever i try to wild i just end up laying there and never really coming close to falling asleep for what seems like hours. am i doing something wrong or is this just something that you have to become good at?

ya, its hard to figure out at first because there is no real way to accuratly decribe the state of mind that you get in. For me, I am not totally focused on what I am trying to do but I am not just letting my thoughts wander aimlessly. I try to focus on my breathing. Then once I hit that transitional phase where you go into sleep paralysis and enter the dream i just repeat "I am dreaming" until I enter the dream; that way i do not lose conciousness. When I was first experimenting with WILD i tried to focus on the hynogogic imagery but that did not work to well for me, I find it better to focus on my breathing instead. Anyways, it took me a couple months before I got my first sucessful WILD, so far I have done 3 in a row- 1 each night.

It's a bit tricky if you haven't done it before.
I've described it like trying to swim in an underwater tunnel - if you go too low or high you hit the tunnel and things go pear shaped.
You have to be deep enough to fall asleep, and shallow enough to not lose consciousness entirely.
Sometimes that fine area of success can be tricky to find

      Good luck
