      Should I just stop trying?

I was thinking I should just stop trying WILDS but I end up always trying it anyway, even though its going no where. Infact I think I am far worse at it now, than I was when I started. When I started could lay there for like an hour or an hour and a half before I had to get up and do something else now I can't lay there for longer than 30 minutes without having to get up or move or something.

The first few times I tried it I would feel stuff and even hear sounds but that stopped like over and month and a half ago and was only the first few days. Which I guess is why I just can't stay still for very long anymore, because there are no signs at all its working. I don't even see hypnagogic imagery or anything.

I have also never fallen asleep trying, so when I try I normally lose out on the last few hours of sleep. Which really kills my dream recall because thats when I have my best dreams.

It was great the one time I got it to work, I am just not sure its worth the effort anymore. Because I am really starting to doubt it will work again.

I'm well into my third month of trying to WILD without success. Every morning when I get up, I tell myself, #@$%, that's it, I won't waste any more time on it, but...
Whenever I wake up during the night, I will always try again.

I have exactly the same thing. I just lay there, I feel WILD approaching, but as soon as I get the first "body feeling" I screw up. I focus all my attention, on the body stuff, and it just pulls me out. I cant control it

Tonight I'll try a different method - I'll come home from my job (at 8.30), pop some melatonin, go to sleep. Then I'll wake up at 2 and pop some more melatonin and try melatonin assisted WILD Since I dont have to get up early on saturday, I can sleep extra 8 hours...
      Hope it will work.

Seeker, why are you trying to get lucid through WILD? You are already becoming lucid naturally.

I am interested in WILD myself because I want to try OOBE ultimately.

Look...Alric, maybe you should just give it like 2 weeks break, and when you try next, just go with the flow, don't worry about it, and chill out. If it happens, it happens, if it doesn't it doesnt! you'll be fine, man

If it seems you're going nowhere, just keep trying. There's something you're missing, that only you can find out. Like for me, yesterday night I realized that the hypnotic imagery is in layers. Before I could never see it, but now I have no trouble. Trust me, you'll get it someday (I hope I can too. ).

Taking a break might be good. Practice doesn't help any though. Just getting worse and worse at it.

I am not a natural like Lost Soul or Lucius, they are lucid almost all of the time. I have LDs 3-4 times a week, usually by recognizing dreamsigns, sometimes spontaneous. Thing is I want to have 7+ lucid dreams a week. I guess I could wait for my rate to increase by itself, but I am a little impatient.

What I would like to do is this:
Fall asleep at night, wake up after 3 hours and do a MILD, then wake up after 6 hours and do a WILD.
This would, in theory, give me 14 LDs a week!!! (yeah I dream BIG!)

I'm getting the hang of MILD and can get it to work sometimes.

Maybe though, I'm just being silly and should wait for my rate to increase naturally.
