      WILD question

Hey guys, im thinking about trying the WILD tenique but im nervous. I used to try self hypnosis and have had my whole body go knumb and stuff and im wondering if thats how to "vibrations" i hear about so much feels. Anyways thats not what im worried about, I also hear about disturbing sounds and images. This is what makes me scared to try this. Can some of you please tell me some of your "disturbing" sounds and images so I kind of know what to expect. Also somtimes while im just trying to get to sleep(not lucid dream) out of nowere a scary image will pop in my head, does anyone here think that since I sometimes have random scary images just sleeping, If I try to WILD I will have alot, im just nervous about the sounds and images. Can someone please just give me any info on the disturbing stuff. Thanks.

Never have done a successful WILD, but if you get nervous, it won't help.

      A piece of advice:

If you find something scary whilst doing a WILD, turn it into something nice. If you see the grim reaper with his hands behind his back, don't think but KNOW that there's flowers behind his back and he's going to take off his hood and be your next door neighbour or something. Or his metal thingy - scythe, I mean - is rubber and it's halloween. Or something. I don't know when the scariness occurs, when you're awake or actually dreaming, but turn it into something pleasant.

When I first tried WILDing, I found it quite scary, but this single saying stopped me feeling scared: Nothing can hurt me while I am dreaming.

well i woke up this morning i gave it a shot, it didnt work although I think I was getting close. Im really not "nervous" like when your on a roller coster or watching a scary movie just more curious about it. At one point when I tried it my chest start to really feel pressure on it or something which wasnt like the self hypnosis numbness. I wasnt expecting it like that so I kind of jumped out of it but no scary images or sounds, just a bunch of yellow cirles like donuts and lines, sometimes blue and green. Anyways any info on this would still be great.

im not too experienced but im pretty much 100% sure that chest pressure and visualizations (like when you press on your eyelids and see shapes, kind of like what you saw) is normal, and maybe you should "stick with it" next time (tonight try it).

I have done four accidental WILDs (I tried to do them, but failed and gave up...then they occurred a few hours laters). The only thing, for me, scary about the WILD was the feeling of something completely new and unfamiliar. Now, however, there is no apprehension. Don't be afraid, it is a very interesting experience, and you can't be harmed--it's all in your head.

The sounds I've heard have varied greatly. The first time I did it I head a man say something in my ear, that scared me because it caught me off guard. I've also heard a group of children laughing one time. The crazies on was when I was just laying in bed relaxing and I was thinking of some weird log cabin. I pictured this women push a man down and I heard the 'thump' of him hitting the ground as clear as day. Crazy stuff
God, grant me the courage the change the things I can, the serenity to accept the things I can't, and the wisdom to know the difference...

another quick question, its totally dumb but if I go the DILD route I dont have to bother which images and sounds and chest pressure right? Just looking for dream signs and stuff? Im thinking maybe DILD would be easier since im just starting out. Maybe, shoot for DILD and if I happen to get im in the middle of the night(which I do alot) try for a WILD.

if you don't want the strange images and sounds, then yes, DILD would be the easier choice. But not necessarily easier to do. You really have to train yourself to notice dream signs. So do plenty of reality checks throughout the day. You can always try both at the same time. Do a lot of reality checks, then when u attempt a WILD and fail, you might just have a DILD and become aware after u enter the dream, which is almost as good, if not the same, without the transition.

The transition is nothing to be afraid of really, you just have to tell yourself thats its all in your head and nothing can happen to you. Its only scary when you have a lot of fear. The less fear you have, the less scary your mind will make the sounds and images.

Yeah I got much too lazy to do reality checks throughout the day so I began training myself to do WILD's... The thing about WILD is that its unique to everyone and its almost impossible to describe what you go through because quite simply, it is not like anything you experience in the real world (the feeling of switching bodies and realities). Really the best thing to do is keep trying and keep trying. Eventually it'll all happen right and you'll have the most amazing (lucid) dreams you've ever had.

yeah, my body gets up about 2 hours early everyday naturally latley, so ive been using this time to try WILDs, for some reason though I couldnt get the colors and shapes to form, it seemed to almost skip right to HI but it might have been me just imagining them and it wasnt really HI, I dunno. my hands are always to first thing to go numb, but somereason I just couldnt get as close this time as last time. I wrote down my dream and everything. I got up, went to the bathroom, got some water, had a snack, try to only think about lucid dreaming, did reality checks but i dunno. Ill try it again. ALso does anyone know if taking benedril(sorry for wrong spelling) or tylonal pm or advil pm or something will effect your dreams?or make it harder to have a lucid one? i havnt taken any but im thinking about it.
