      Finally! My first WILD!!!!

It happened last night... I fell asleep around 12:30 while I was watching T.V. I was completely dressed and outside the covers. This made me wake up at 6am, and since I didn't have to go to work untill 3, I decided to stay up for half an hour and try a WILD. I stay up watching the movie "Hook"(which I like, BTW) on TNT, and at 6:30 they went to commercials, so I decided it was as good as time as any. I turned off the t.v. and began breathing deeply and concentrating on my breathing. This went on for a while, all the time I was thinking "I am awake"(as in my mind is awake) so I would not loose my consciousness.

After a while I felt like I was zooming in to inside my head, the darkness grew deeper and my body was paralized. Sound grew more distant, and I was aware of this whole proces and embraced it. Every now and then I had a thought about waking up, going back to reality, but I quickly dissuaded it. The problem I had is I kept focusing in my breathing, and I felt at times that I should just let go, but when I did I felt this state become more fragile, so I had to continue. This made me go back into the waking world.

This went on for quite some time, in fact it took me at least an hour to actually depart from the waking world. I am not really sure how it happened, I remember my mind creating many situations, dream situations in which I was a spectator. But they were not really shapes and figures, like you are supposed to see when you WILD. They were happenings and I kept trying to stop them. I was more in control of my mind than I remember ever being. At times I heard the song "Creep" from Radiohead, which distracted me. As soon as I thought stop, I stopped, which I generally am unable to do.

During this whole time my body was once again asleep, but I was very aware of it. Then, for a moment I don't remember anything, just that I kept focusing on the darkness. During an underdefined period of time I lost awareness of the waking world completely, and was nowhere and thought nothing. Then it happened....

I suddenly found myself opening my eyes, knowing I was in a dream. I was very aware of it, too aware if you ask me, and it just seemed so vivid. This was painfull for some reason...I can't really explain it.... all I know is that I knew I was asleep but at the same time I was there. I felt every little thing, I never thought dreams could be so real. It was like if I was plugged to a program(like in the matrix).

It all was happening in a very slow-motion. I couldn't really see much in the right side, it was very blurry. The left side was clear, so I decided to concentrate on that side. I remembered that somebody(not from the forum) had once told me that if you look at the palms of your hands in a dream, then you would gain control of it. I raised my hands...It all felt so real!! I started waving them in front of my face and focus on them, which did make things a bit clearer.

When I got the right side straightened out I realized that in this white house, were two friends back from high school. One I didn't recognize, the other I did. He spoke to me but I couldn't understand what he was saying to me. I asked him to repeat himself, but that didn't work. I was too amazed by the whole thing and the whole slo-mo thing threw me off. I wanted to fly, but rather decided to explore the place. I then made some gravity-defying jump to the kitchen and decided I would fly to the house of this girl I like. Then I remembered the "dream sex" thread in this forum and that there were many things I would rather do(as I stated in my post in this thread). I decided to look for a mirror....

I turned my head and "coincidentally" found a mirror in the living room. I went to it, without being able to see my reflection, at first. I decided to put my hand through it. I started at first and it felt really weird, like when your arm is asleep but more electrical, so I pulled my hand out. I saw my reflection in the mirror, but it looked like a reflection made by tin foil. I then attempted to put my whole arm in the mirror, and this feeling was what made me go back into the waking world. Everything faded and I felt myself in my body again.

I never opened my eyes, I kept breathing and fell asleep again, this time I lost my consciousness.....Funny thing I remember that in one of my dreams I was telling a friend of mine about this whole experience...

Anyway, thanks for reading, I know it is a pretty long post, but I couldn't write any less. It was one of the most vivid and realistic happening I have ever experienced, and after this I will double my efforts on waking up after 6 hours sleep and WILDing.

      Wow, really?

At first I wasn't completely sure it was a WILD, because I really didn't see any of the images you are supposed to see while WILDing. I haven't researched much about OOBEs but I guess there is the posiblity it was one, since it really felt like I was there, and it happened kind of all of a sudden and not like fading into a dream.

I am very interested to learn other people's opinions on the matter, so feel free to post any thoughts you might have....

Awesome! Im really dissapointed in myself I woke up at 4:00 in the morning on Saturday and thought " this is the perfect opportunity to do a WILD, but before I knew it I fell back asleep, my sister is into this, too, and that will be making this a lot easier to do, since we can wake each otehr up and stuff, congrats, man!

      Grats on your WILD!

I feel almost the same way every time I try, however I cant get past the "point of departure" - I concentrate on body feelings, and it makes them disappear. Last time I tried WILD, I had an improvement tho - I just followed my thoughts and It got me further.
However at the point when I was about to enter a dream, my thoughts "disappeared", and I lost concentration.

Nice one, Truthbearer! I think thats a fine example of a WILD, not really an OBEE.

Same here! I can get quite far, at least to the point where your mind starts creating stories etc, but there I lose my conciousnesss... I dont know what to do to improve it because as soon as it notice it, its gone.

Seems like WILD to me aswell..pretty clear, though its tricky WILD can be OBE like, when its in the form of AP..or something the like. You leave your body, you feel yourself leave your body and might actually see it lieing there, but in fact its the astral plane you just entered, and not some part of the physical.

In my only WILD so far, I felt myself being pulled from my body. I raised and hovered below the ceiling of the room next to my bedroom.
I couldnt move my body, just my eyes. After a while I found myself on the floor of the same room , exactly below the spot where I was hovering.

↑ I think here I made the worst mistake. Instead of making 2 steps and actually entering my bedroom, to see if I'm still there, I went to the bathroom...

But wouldn't that one actually be a OOBE? In my..whatever... I was in a whole different place, some big very white house I have never seen before. I never saw my body anyplace else, I just felt like I was there very vividly. Whatever it was I hope I can repeat the experience soon...

You are hooked now, my friend

Lucius, do OBE's happen at the same location (for example start from your bed) and have the same time ( night if you are asleep at night) ?

Cause in my WILD It was daytime.

Well, Im still not sure about OBEs, and what exactly they are, my own leaving my body experiences are all AP, I AP ,thats my goal, not OBE. But Im starting to think they might be the same..

The OBE as some say so does take place at the same time, as you leave you body and project into the PSHYSICAL(or a part of it) plane, so you should be able to like go and see your housemates in another room or something and later tell them what they were doing.

AP on the other hand is more like WILD, but done at any time and mostly from out meditation, and it projects directly into the ASTRAL plane, the dream world.

So if you would have an OBE how people say it is it should be the same time(day/night) I think

I still cannot believe how powerful our mind is, and how many things can be achieved through meditation that I never even knew until about 2 moths ago. I can't imagine what it would be to spend your whole life without having at least one experiece such as this. It is so enriching. If I can never do that again in my life I still think I gained more than I could ever imagine by just this once...

Indeed! Just by looking at the clarity, coherence and detail of this picture, you can say how powerful your mind is.

Now I'm looking at people, who dont know about it, and think of how much they they dont know...

wow I think your hand in the mirror was possibly entering the 2nd Dimension. Its another dimension surely. When you dream you exist in the 4th Dimension and it cannot be explain only that you are matter in space and time and physical rules dont apply.

The 4th dimension? What theory is that coming from?(just curious)

The astral plane seems like the 2nd dimension, or 2nd plane, when it comes to the occult theories that is. The pshysical is number 1, mental plane would be 3 and buddhic would be 4. (unless you include the etheric plane as nr 2 but thats more a part of the pshysical)

4th dimension is space - lack of gravity no rules. You can only keep your mind on keeping on the floor but flying is due to lack of gravity

Oh, well I dont think you really are in space when you are dreaming, the astral plane is not exactly space I think, its a whole other plane of existance, at least, thats the way I see it

we are in space now sitting here. Coplicated stuff though! I think the 4th dimension has more to do with time than space - but it seems like time slows when you dream

If you are talking about the everything/the all then I understand. But I thought you were literaly talking about *outer space* as in the pshysical planes outer space.
