Okay so I came up with this a while ago and I'm not sure if it works properly for WILD but anyway here it is. All you need is a wall next to your bed. So go to bed when you feel ready for WILD and lay down on your side, facing the wall. Now lean your hand against the wall. The elbow should touch the bed but yor hand should touch the wall, at the highest point possible. Now just relax in this position. It doesn't take much effort to keep your hand up but it should take a little effort, and that's the thing: The moment you fall asleep your hand falls down next to you. You won't wake up entirely but it's a clear sign of you falling asleep. Hopefully it will only wake up your mind. Now it's up to you, keep your mind awake with the traditional ways (like climbing up stairs, whatever works best for you), you are close. When your hand falls down it's a sign of sleep paralysis, if I'm correct, so you can't be far from dreaming.
Pros:
You don't have to do pretty much anything
Cons:
Your hand could be too well balanced, staying up even when you fall asleep
