I'm not really sure why you would want to, but you could check out the sleep paralysis tutorial , other than that I don't know much about it, since I've rarely had it. |

Thanks for showing me that. Is there a thread about it? Did anyone have success with it? |

maybe staying up late and watching t.v....i don't know there were a few times where I was tired, I was laying down on my couch waiting for someone to stop by trying not to fall asleep....then I decided to get up before I fell asleep and I realized I was in S.P. I could still see the cartoons on t.v . |

Sleep paralysis is about being conscious while you sleep. You can use any method you like to do that. Some people find it easy and others not. |

It's a tricky process--you have to let yourself fall asleep while remaining conscious the whole time. Sleep paralysis only kicks in during REM sleep, so to achieve it is the first part of doing a successful WILD. I've had very limited success with inducing it purposely and have been experimenting with different techniques for doing it consistently. The only useful thing in terms of succeeded that I have discovered, is that you have to be able to focus on either the hypnagogia or tinnitus without REALLY focusing. It's very difficult to describe, and very similar to practicing certain kinds of meditation where you focus on your breathing and eventually don't focus on anything at all. It's hard to get the balance right, because if you take too active a roll in watching the imagery or listening to the tinnitus, you won't fall asleep at all, and if you take too passive a roll you'll fall asleep without realizing it. If you start to practice for sleep paralysis induction, be sure to let me know how your progress is going---this is the most interesting part of lucid dreaming for me, and I am eager to find someone else to experiment with different methods. Good luck! |

try to set your subconscious to wake you up after 5 hours of sleep. if/when you wake up, don't move a muscle. clear your mind, and relax you body completely. |
