I feel your pain. I have only managed about one lasting LD since I started trying around June/July. Try setting your alarm clock to about 1 or two in the morning. Then go to sleep at like 9 or 10. Then try to WILD after that. Also, if you are extremely desperate, train yourself to reality check every two minutes. The RC that has worked for me when I went lucid was the pinch the nose and try to breathe through the pinching technique. Do this about every two minutes and you will definitely do it in a dream.

      Either that or drugs

When you performing WILD, try to imagine yourself doing one of the following: walking up the stairs, falling down, entering into blackhole, or flying through whorl. Those things should help you not to fall asleep before WILD, but if you let your mind wonder around in other thoughts, you'll most likely fall asleep before WILD.

I have done at least five WILD, and a couple of things that worked for me were falling down and a whorl.

In two of the WILD i imagined myself falling down from very high builfing, and visualized the groung goetting closer to me. Eventually i saw a white light and enterd LD. If i hit the ground before entering LD, i'll fly through the ground and repeat to keep continuous falling.

In the rest of the WILD's, i imagined myself getting sucked into a spinning wholr(something like "battery : cominatcha" from Windows Media Player).

It takes me about five to twenty minutes to fall into WILD, but because everyone is different it could take even longer.

      I Hope that helps.

I had some progress with WILD last night. I slept 3 hours and awoke naturally. I then went to the bathroom and drank some milk, and decided it would be a good oppurtunity to attempt WILD. Last night was the first time I made it all the way to sleep paralalysis. It felt like my body was covered with that lead blanket the dentist uses.

I tried listening to the Lucid Induction CD found on this forum.

Suddenly, my mind was completly clear and alert and my body disappeared. Everything was black, and I tried and tried, but I could not visualize stairs or my room or anything, it was just black black black. I could hear my heart beat faster than normal and my eyes were blinking rapidly, so I think I was mentally conscious during REM. It was as if my mind and body seperated, but my mind was blind. Allthough I made progress last night, I am still confused.

Indago...you may have already been dreaming...next time peep an eye open slightly and see. Your dream eyes could have been closed

I think my dream eyes were open. I could "feel" my dream eyes opening, but only seeing blackness. It was the weirdest thing; I was just staring into this dream void. Perhaps this qualifies as my first LD?

I later opened up my real eyes and passed a few RCs.

Tonight I'm going to try the same WBTB method except I'm not going to practice any mantras or counting, I'm just going to listen to the brainwaves and let my mind drift off. After 20 minutes the "you are dreaming" voiceovers should activate lucidity!

Sorry, ric, I wasn't trying to hijack your thread, we are just having the same issues with WILD.

Indago, someone else mentioned this somewhere a while ago, but try visualising and making yourself strongly beleive that there is a torch in your pocket, and sticking your hand in. Hope that helps. Or think, 'Oh, it's dawn, the sun's coming up now.' or something.
