      WILD-hypnologic imagery

so i woke up in the middle of the night last night so i decided to try WILD.
(ive never tried WILD before by the way)
so i relax and after a while my feet leading to my hips began to go into paralysis
      i started feeling the vibrations..
but i just kept waiting for so long for the hypnologic imagery..
it never came after like 15 minutes and i was really tired so i just decided to forget about it

      help?

by the way i attained lucidity during the dream and had an awesome experience

Hey... as you may have seen, earlier thismorning I got out of a failed WILD attempt, but for the first time, I started to get Hypnagogic imagery pretty well. Albatrosses with fish, a face, and some other stuff I think.

So here's the deal. From what I gather so far, getting a WILD is pretty much trial and error. Breathing, relaxation, your position in bed (esp. that of arms, in my experience) and state of mind, all need to be messed about with until you feel like you're doing something right...

WAITING 15 minutes will not get you results. It's not about waiting, and 15 minutes ain't enough... at least I don't think so...

From what I gather, the whole idea behind a WILD is to fall asleep, while retaining a stream of consciousness. So by 15 minutes you were feeling tired? GOOD. Relax. Fall asleep. But focus on something WHILE you fall asleep so that your body and mind ALL fall asleep, EXCEPT that little wittle bit which gives you consciousness.

I personally feel I've come VERY close to a successful WILD on at least two occaisions, even though I've only been trying a little less than a week. In my experience, when I start getting "there", my body feels like it's sinking, or much "smaller" than it is usually, and my mind and thoughts are drifting and sluggish. You gotta counter that by focussing on something, like a wierd physical sensation, or focussing GENTLY (not hard) on a changing light pattern that's floating and doing shit in front of your eyes.

I hope that helps... I'm not exactly qualified to help, but hey... any help's better than none, I suppose...

I think The Blue Meanie explains WILD quite well!
A funny thing is you have in error called it hypnologic imagery. Although it is actually called hypnagogic imagery, I think your rendering is great Logic. ha. I like it!!

And you experienced a DILD. A dream initiated LD. That is a good sign. It means you are becoming more aware!

A technique which I've found to be pretty productive (and one I use in my classes to get wilds) Is to just lay down and close your eyes, now don't focus on anything just try to notice any litle thing. For me, I see a bunch of black with little tiny beads of white, very tiny. And I just notcie them,I dont focus on them. And I watch and wait and expect more to show. and as I see more and more my mind goes into 'stand by' and whatever thought I happen to be thinking will be projected onto my eyelids. (This on time in class I was laying down on my desk with my eyes closed, I was thinking of the desk right in front of me and BAM, it was almost as if i could see straight through my eye lids.) Usually now when I do this, I see an amazing starfield that sweeps across my vision, but when I try to focus on it, it goes away back to my eyelids.

      Hope that helps
God, grant me the courage the change the things I can, the serenity to accept the things I can't, and the wisdom to know the difference...
