      Tried WBTB...

(First of all, I didn't have a LD... but it still was a awesome)

So last night I actually tried the Wake Back To Bed method for the very first time.

I Fell asleep at midnight and had an alarm set to 5:20 AM. It was a wise choice because a dream had just ended as I woke up to the alarm. Wrote down some keywords so I could remember the dream in the morning and got out of bed. I went to the toilet and then to the kitchen to make some chocolate milk (really helped). Then I read some articles here, drank the chocolate milk and did a few RC's until 6:10 AM, then I went back to bed.

I tried to WILD but something was wrong, I couldn't really relax or something... So that didn't succeed... though I saw some really cool hypnologic imagery later on. First I had an INTENSE FA. It was short but oh so real. My mom came into my room and took my DVD player and my laptop away, for some reason. I tried to scream something to her but I couldn't (missed that sign...). I got so angry that I woke myself up and I was actually making sounds so I thought "whoa".

The rest of the morning was cool, I had two long dreams that I can remember almost perfectly... The second one was really nice, too. It involved my best friend

Still no LDs but I'll certainly try again.

So you've never had an LD before? I've tried the WBTB tech. many times, but I can't ever get back to bed. That's probably my own issue, but it's very annoing. I'll wake up, then incubate and MILD, but no matter how tired I am I can never seem to get back to bed.

No, that's not what I'm saying, I've had about 5 lucid dreams since I joined here (I've been lucid dreaming earlier, too. But they weren't really anything worth mentioning). I was just talking about last night when I said "Still no LDs"

Yeah, I tried WBTB for my first time last night, as well. I just read DV for about 40 minutes, emptied my bladder, and went back to bed telling myself that "I wil fly, and I'll realize I'm dreaming." I fell asleep, and didn't have a dream... I woke up disappointed, then fell back asleep. This time I had a pretty vivid regular dream. It was cool, but kind of disappointing. Oh well.

Keep at it, Phillip. You will get the hang of it eventually. WBTB method takes a bit of practice, as does any other method. Hang in there, and you'll do just fine.

If you're having trouble getting back to sleep, try staying up for a shorter amount of time, such as 30 minutes instead of 45. Maybe even printing out some stuff from here (tutorials, posts, etc.) and keeping it by your bedside. That way when you wake up you don't necessarily have to get up.

      I don't know, but it's worth a shot if you're using WBTB. Everyone's different.

That's great advice - I always keep dream or sleep related reading material next to the bed. Reading it in bed before falling asleep puts in the right frame of mind for LDs and better dream recall.
