WILD problems (seems I'm not the only one)

      Hello.

So I'm excited to say I had a LD last night . Weirdly, a DC convinced me I was dreaming. But anyway, that's not the point. Yesterday, I took an amaaaazing nap, but when I tried to do WILD while falling asleep, I started "forgetting" about having an actual body, so to speak, but then I'd realize it and suddenly be quite aware of it again. Whenever I would get like that, I'd snap back to reality. It was so frustrating. Any suggestions or experiences with this sort of thing? Any help is appreciated

yeah that's pretty common. unfortunately, there's no easy way around it. successful WILDs are tricky because they involve being able to focus without focusing. focusing too hard makes you too aware of what's going on and it's not possible to get beyond the first few stages of HI, focusing too little will cause you to lose consciousness. i have found, for me at least, the single best thing is to practice meditation regularly--it strengthens the same part of your mind you need.

I've never been a good WILDer myself. That technique just doesn't seem to do it for me. Everyone's different, so maybe there's a better induction technique for you, too.

That happens to me all the time.
Quite often several times before I fall asleep.

I used to think of these as mini dreams although it contradicts the fact you need to be in REM to dream but now I know what they are.

I try to WILD nearly every night these days but have yet to have a succeful one.

I have exactly the same problem as you in that I wake up as soon as I become aware of the strange thoughts I've been having.

I really enjoy this stage even though it hasn't led me to an LD and I often end up quite amused by some of the strange and abstract things my mind conjures up.

Last night this happened and I was in a queue buying take away food.
The woman serving me gave me my chicken and I had an argument with her because there wasn't enough in the pot. Then I realised what was going on and snapped out of it.

I'll keep trying at it tho as this seems like the easiest method for me,

      Maybe tonight!
