how i used to attain lucidity

Ok this technique is the first i ever heared of to attain lucidity, mainly because I thought about it 10 years ago.

This is how it goes... I remember first having a LD in a nightmare.there was this ghost which frequently visited me to "check" if i was sleeping (If not he took me for a full night of nightmares thinkin im about to die). One night (I cant remember the though I had) I realised this ghost was only in my dreams so when I saw it I told my self "if im not willing to go with him or to challenge him (cause I could fake I was asleep), i wont" than it took me only one try and I said "I will open my eyes, im only dreaming, my body can still be awaken, I will open my eyes" than i woke up.

Ne way, in this dream I am willing to end it but I used this techniques very often , and saw that I became lucid only in nightmares. Could this be a good point to start on? Could this be a way for me to atain more frequent LD, I could meditate to see this ghost again. (I already have a detailled recall half the time but cant control lucidity)

I think you could use your nightmare as a starting point for an LD. I think that is a great idea. Whatever you think will work best for you. If you think it will work for you, I definately think it's a good idea.

This is exactly how it started for me, erm, 31 years ago or so I'd guess.

I was just a kid with nightmares... most often being tickled/restrained by this abstract black ghost/creature (the tickle sensation was very real and very annoying)... then one day I felt i had some control of the situation. I started to interact verbally with this creature... i didn't know i was dreaming but very quickly i was controlling the outcomes, via distracting it through conversation, to the point the dreams stopped. I've never had a nightmare since.

would an inverted WILD result in sleep walking? (your mind sleeps but your body doesnt)

I think the key to this is the repetition of the dream that allows you to attain lucidity... so allowing you to escape the nightmare. It probably works the same way with all recurring dreams?

In the dreams I had in my youth I would realise I was dreaming during nightmares and wake up deliberately by placing my fingers in my (strangly already open) eyes and opening them. These actions have , one night, also lead to 3 false awakenings, each after which I soon Realised I wasn't ACTUALLY awake and still dreaming. Too bad I haven't had such wild dreams since. But I'm trying to get back into it.
