Patterns Indicating a Move to Lucidity

I have not yet succeeded in inducing any LDs, at least not in 6 months or more. But I have noticed some shifts in my dreaming over the last week or so. I wonder if they reflect a normal pattern of moving towards lucid dreaming.

First, I have tracked the categories (awareness, form, etc.) of dreamsigns that appear in my dreams. They shifted from a long-term (years probably) dominance of context signs to a dominance of awareness signs, all in about a week. I have become increasingly aware of the strangeness of things in my dreams. This seems like a good step towards consciously doing reality checks while dreaming.

Second, I have, within the last week, begun waking up after what seems like each dream. I know many people work towards this, but I find it very annoying. It doesn't improve my recall, because I have long been able to recall numerous dreams each night. So it just makes me tired. Anyway... I wondered if many people find this happening as they become more conscious in their dreams.

Does anyone know of any particular sleep and dream patterns that emerge as a person moves towards lucidity?

that is an excellent sign..i would go so far as to say that noticing strangeness with your dreaming mind is half the battle. soon you will carry that momentum into performing a reality check (the other step), and you'll beoff and running.

personally i started waking up after every dream soon before i started becoming lucid...i believe this shows that you are becoming more aware, and bringing more of your 'waking' consciousness into your dreams...it seems understandable that when first this happens one reacts by waking up. after all, thus far you have only experienced 'waking' consciousness while physically awake (i also believe this is why so many wake up from lucids quickly when first starting out, such as myself).

everyone is different in the progression they go through in becoming lucid, but you are showing all the signs which i myself experienced the week or two before i had my first lucid. i am confident you will have at least one lucid by the end of this month, likely a handful.

i also suspect thta once you start becoming lucid you will progress quite rapidly...for some people becoming lucid is fairly easy, but improving various abilities while in lucid dreams is difficult and they never acheive much. you strike me as the opposite. it has taken you awhile to acheive lucidity, but once you get past this barrier your familiarity with various modes of consciousness will be a huge advantage

      soon...

Your post encourages me. I especially like how I can look forward to sleeping through the night again sometime and not have to spend of the rest of my lucid life waking up a gazillion times each night.

I'd like to hear about how others came into lucid dreaming. I'd find it interesting to sort through the different patterns. So please folks post your experiences with this. Or else point me towards where this info already exists.
