      Went Lucid While Naked

      After six months of trying this I finally did it! I went lucid! I've tried reality checking, WILD, supplements, and nothing happened. But this just snuck up on me after I woke up early in the morning and went back to sleep.

      I was in that all too familar situation in a dream where you realize you're naked and are frantically trying to get back home or somewhere private before you're thoroughly humiliated. Then I realized, "Hey, this is a dream, what am I worried about?" and just totally embraced the dream and went lucid. I felt the warm tingling all-over and everthing became "real". I was just walking down the street passing people, totally enjoying my nudity and nobody seemed to care. For some reason I was in Montreal (never been there) so I spoke in French (don't know french either) to some guys outside a cafe. I laughed so hard as I walked away because I had know idea what I just said but it sounded good!

      I didn't feel myself lose lucidity but I guess gradually the dream took over and I just began to follow it again. It was a great dream even after I lost lucidity. I woke up with a big smile when I remembered going lucid and felt great all day while recalling the dream.

      I have this subtle feeling that we always know we are dreaming when we are dreaming, but the dream just controls us and we follow it never realizing it could be any different. I am going to try this again when I'm in a panic situation in a dream and try to remember I have nothing to fear.

      It seems to me the next step is to try to maintain awareness of the dream - to find a balance between being aware of the dream while still enjoying the adventure of the dream without getting caught up in it and letting it take over.

      How do you maintain this awareness?

      Congrats on your experience. Usually something freakish or outlandish in a dream shocks you into realization "this has to be a dream". Once you get that queue you just have to run with it and do something you've mentally trained yourself to do over and over. Like in daily life, you tell yourself, "once I realize i'm dreaming I will spin... or I will look at my hands" personally I favor the looking at your hands trick, it works perfectly for me. Basically it connects you to your dream self and fixes your dream attention and that particular dream. Then you can basically do whatever you like. If you set up a routine to do before you attempt to lucid dream, then when you have a lucid moment while dreaming, you got it all worked out what to do. otherwise you'll just roam around or do whatever and that usually leads to becoming non-lucid or just waking up.

      just have fun with it, that's the best way. dreaming should be just like a fun game, ask yourself "what would I like to do?" and then go for it in dreaming...

      Usually when I'm like half naked... I'm never fully naked in dreams. No body really cares. I always "forget" to put something on... .

      well... if you've ever accidentally stumbled on a nudist beach in california you *might* not want everyone to walk around naked all the time...

      but, then again, if you've been to the beaches on the south of france, that's a completely more positive experience

      Ooohhhhh man!!! Had a dream like that once. At school, realize I'm naked and nobody gave a crap! I still thought it was real--false awakening.

      Weird I have never had a naked dream where I wasn't supposed to be naked! But I have had naked dreams were I was supposed to! HAHA Those are fun naked dreams!!!!

      I already dreamed I was naked at my school.. people were all like: look she's naked! and Vikings started to attack us with razor blades.It was very wierd because I didn't mind to be naked.Lots of people I know who dreamed they were naked when they weren't supposed to.. it was at school.

      Its probably because we go there all the time, we know so many people and its one of the worst posible place you could be naked.

      Whenever i'm naked at school in a dream, it always seems to be way back at my old school. I havn't been there in years.

      Hey I'm wondering something, since I'm such a philosophical guy. If you had the chance to translate that french, do you think it would mean anything? I mean perhaps you've heard french on tv and your mind mysteriously threw a sentence together. Like propaganda or devil messages or something.
