Possible RC: Can I see my hair?

Naturally this only works if you can normally see your hair.

Has anyone ever successfully attained lucidity from realizing that the hair which normal obscures your vision is gone, or that you look up and you can't see the ends.

It just seems a really practical and easy to perform one cause it's always there so I thought I might see what peoples thoughts and opinions are on it. Hell it might be the new 'check your watch'

It could be kinda bad if you get dependant on it, then it gets cut off

Korittke, you obviously aren't aware of modern standards including that females aren't the only ones with long hair nowadays. And that's aside from the fact that a hair style doesn't even necessarily have to be of the "long" type for hair to fall over along the face reaching towards one's eyes if one neglects cutting it (though still keeping a "short" hair style).

Regarding this reality check, however, I'd say that it's certainly a very interesting and, what's no less important, rather simple check. After all, most seek reality checks that can be done as often as possible and thus require to be little noticed by those around as to not attract unwanted attention and what not else. Thus, if one can see his/her hair it would merely be a matter of visual confirmation (as this technique points out).

      Great observation Dagget, thanks.

I thought about the same thing with my glasses, which I can see if I think about it. And the fact that I need them to see! Maybe also jewelry that you normally wear that you can easily see.

Ah, most observant as well. Glasses may even be simpler and a dependancy on them (if worn constantly) may be useful considering that glasses are often used for one's entire life since their first usage instead of being replaced or taken off for amounts of time like hair is cut off periodically.

Yes, I've been trying RCs with my glasses, since I've noticed that I'm never wearing them in dreams. No success yet, but I'm going to keep trying since it's such an easy thing to check.

I thought about the hair thing once, then I realised most of the time I can see my hair in dreams.

I'll try this, but I can only see my hair at the edges of my vision, and while dreaming I seem to move my head not my eyes so I can't glance sideways.

I am considering going bald for quite a few reasons. One of them is to see if I can use it as a dreamsign (where in the dream I still have hair).

I think of RC's and then I forget to do them in my dream. In another thread somebody was talking about blurry vision being their dream-sign, and I also often feel like I am squinting, or it is too dark, or foggy, or something--so the obvious combination which just ocurred to me (duh - we were even talking about glasses then), whenever I can't see quite right, check for glasses, and if I'm not wearing them, why not!? I always have my glasses on when I am awake, and I never noticed them when I am dreaming. And if I did have glasses on in a dream, they probably wouldn't be my regular ones if I took them off and looked at them.

This is good, I think it will work! Hopefully it will stick in my brain. Thanks to all for helping me put it together (common DS + RC that can't fail = guaranteed LD! We'll see...).

I think it's the different when you can't see them when you should be able too.

I'm pretty sure everyone has a nose in their dream, but checking you see if you can see your own is a reality check.
