$19? I think it's great that you're working on software to help LD, but aren't there already many "alarm" programs out there that have these exact features? When to set time, what images to set off, etc. |
I'm currently working with a developer on an Alarm software that lets you set your REM periods and how long your triggers will last. It will flash the screen and play what ever audio file you want for how ever long. So based off a REM period chart you could set 4 or 5 triggers throughout the night. Requirements are PC with Windows XP or 2000 and .NET framework 1.1. |

Hrm yeah... citrus alarm clock is free ( http://www.ornj.net/citrus/ ) and it is a super good program. Multiple alarms and the whole shmeal (even a fade in thing) |
Citrus is alarm program which requires interaction to disable. |
Why charge $19 though? I'm pretty sure it didn't take that long (or big a budget) to make this |

Here's the latest screen shots of Lucid Clock. Were hoping soon to start testing and posting the 1st beta version. Thanks for your interest. |

Your time and ingenuity is worth something. If what you are doing is truly unique, don't be talked into giving it away. It isn't foolishness. |

Sounds pretty cool. Personally I think you should make it free until some people try it out and you get some feedback. If people like it you could make a "pro" version with extra features and charge for that or something. Or make it a one-month evaluation. If it works for people then they will probably buy it, if it doesn't then they can feel good about not having wasted their money. I say start free, if it works, start charging. |

i use the Ihome ipod alarm clock... it doesnt have multiple alarms, but it is great for setting your mind to remembering dreams and i can set it to sleep in increments of 30 minutes up to 120. So i downloaded text aloud and creating some meditative music to sleep to and to play in between dreams... |
The worst mistake you can make is to think you're alive when you're really asleep in lifes waiting room.
Currently I'm using a MAC alarm clock, although it has triggered lucids; it's annoying that it continues to loop and you have to (at one point) go hit snooze or dismiss. That is the purpose of our program. No interaction needed. |
Awesome man! I'm up to try this! |
Back in black!
I'm up for trying it too. I got a whole summer to give this a shot |

Sweet. I'll definitely try it. |

Great, thanks for your interest. Our main purpose of course, would be to attain full lucidity. I'm sure it will work for me and others when triggered mp3's cause a lucid, that's fine. But the main thing I'm interested in is will you see the flashing screen or your room flashing in the dream, similar to nova dreamer, granted that is a mask directly on your eyes. This could be much harder to spot but I'm curious on everyone's results. |
When will the program be ready? |
Back in black!
My friend is programming not me but he's doing some fine tuning on the audio player within the application. After that I do some bug testing then I'll post the Executable in Research so keep your eyes posted. Hopefully Next week sometime. |
Initial Bug test: I tried to open my saved alarms and the status is passed (therefore they will not retrigger). I tried to recreat alarms and again status is passed. This being said your trigger will only work the first night and any new triggers created. Major BUG! |
Bug Testing: I was able to load new alarms after 12:00 midnight just to test the functionality of the alarms. All alarms triggered and shut off. When they triggered the screen was flashing as selected. Thing to note, this program seems to work best where the computer is closer (i.e flashing and better control of volume) Laptops are ideal. |
Tested application again, all seemed fine. My issue was I was using crappy speakers with the laptop the music had to much bass and the voices didnt come through enough so I'll need to adjust the file accordingly. I moved the laptop closer, I noticed now when my eyes were closed I did see the flashing. I'm curious to see if this is strong enough to carry over into the dream. |
I got an error last night but all three triggers that I set went off. Unfortunately I didnt sceen shot it (print screen) open in paint brush. If any beta testers get errors please send them to me as a BMP. That way I can open them at work. |
