      technique for lucidness

I think that the position you sleep in may have to do with lucidity. i usually sleep on my side, cause its the most comfortable position, but i have had quite a few lucid dreams lately when i sleep on my back instead of my side. you all should try it out. and if you already sleep on your back, try a new position. I'd like to see how this works for everyone.
      this is definately a dream

I remember in one lucid dream I could feel my back against my bed and could feel the associations of feelings when your leg falls asleep then feels tingly. My RL back felt like that and it was actually me coming out of SP and then I woke up.

Supine I think it's called - lying on your back. I've noticed I get far more instances of sleep paralysis when I go to sleep in this position. The number of LDs may or may not be related. Of course, changing the familiar makes you notice new things and sharpens your awareness, much like noticing weird triggers in dreams rather than being ok with the whole walking dolphin guy at the grocery who is selling you a bow and arrow in exchange for a car that he needs to get back home at the bottom of the sea

So yea, I'd vote for changing sleep positions once in a while.

I'll try this out. I'll report back in a few days, see if it makes a difference.

LaBerge says there is a definate correlation between sleep position and success with LDs.

Whether it is a psychological connection based on reading that or not, I do find it easier when laying on my right side - but have had plenty of LDs in other positions.

I always have more on my right side, but my natural side is my left, since the wall is on that side, where it's darkest

I usually slep on my right side, but I've experienced the same; when I lie on my back I get more Lucid dreams. This might be because when I lie on my back I am actually more aware of the going into sleep process.

I had the same problem before, but nowadays I can get somewhat more comfortable on my back, but still not as comfortable as on my side or front. However, what I did was just practicing to fall asleep on my back. Listening to some music, and concentrating on it, when going to sleep helps forgetting about your body and the uncomfortable feeling of lying on your back. Soon you should just fall asleep.

I think it's just about getting used to lying on your back and being able to find a comfortable position. And that, I think, comes only with practice.

What about sleeping on the floor (assuming that you have carpeting)? My dad and I used to sleep on the floor on our backs whenever we had headaches or backahes. Most of the time I would try and get some OBE stuff going on but never could. But I seem to remember that lying on the floor instead of in a bed helped my mind stay active while my body buzzed.
