      Yay!! (Read)

      Journal entry:
I think I saw hypnagognic imagery last night. I was in my bed with brainwave generator on for about 30 minutes when BAM!! I felt really weird... the back of my head was kinda cold and I saw flashes of light, not really color though. Maybe some red. I saw a weird pattern of gray. It stopped because I opened my eyes. The reason I opened my eyes is because when I did I was still seeing the hypnagognic imagery for a while and it was really cool. I sat there for another while until I took off my headphones remembering that the preset I was using keeps me from falling asleep. Eventually I gave up on the WILD and fell asleep normally.
      [/entry]

It was cool. Nothing special. Can somene tell me if this is hypnagognic imagery??

so that brainwave generator thing actually works????

Would you have to fall asleep with it on, or get the images and then take it off or something?
      If I hadn't made me
I'd be more inclined to bow
Powers that be would have swallowed me up
But that's more than I can allow...

      Not exactly... well for one...
My computer goes haywire for a wire and the sound goes fuckin beserk... luckily it didn't do it that time.
Also, I was planning on just meditating with it for a while. I was focusing on the sounds...

Here's my problem (adidas helped me with this a little, thanks man )
I kind of have a little... attention... problem and it takes more than 40 minutes for the hypnagognic imagery to come up. The preset I was using for the brainwave generator kept me from falling asleep but I realized that wayyyyy later... You might think, "Why don't you just NOT use the generator...?" Well, it's very hard to not fall asleep without it on considering I get SO bored I start getting into thinking, which is bad.
      Here's my plan...
Wake up at 2:14 and ... read a few passages in my lucid dreaming book to bring my conciousness up to the point where I'm... concious... then go back to bed and HOPEFULLY see hypnagognic imagery within ... 5??? minutes...

      Would that work??

I feel bad about getting Hypnagogic Imagery 'on command' (the simple form with pulsating blobs and forms) and the more 'advanced' form which are almost impossible to see because they're more 'mental' images formed from the thoughts I was thinking when I wandered off.... and not beeing able to do WILDs because I get bored/lazy...

      You should be

Hehe just kidding... Though I think that once I got into hypnagognic imagery I couldn't become bored, as long as I felt as though I was transfering into the dream state, such as in my little experiance last night.

CT, you have to do wilds...

      Like my brother...

Apparently he is good at "zen meditation" while practicing thinking about nothing in 6th grade math class and tuning out everything
He said he can do this for up to 20 minutes...
He also said he can get hypnagognic imagery like you but he didn't know what it was called. There is this other kid who says he gets lucid dreams all of the time but didn't know what was so special about them and thought everyone got them so he didn't take advantage of them. Also, there is this other person I met in a chat room on AIM who learned about lucid dreaming while watching Vanilla Sky but didn't know there was a name for it since he could do it naturally. Since then he started to take advantage of the lucid dreams and do cool things in them. He should come soon... his screenname would be something like Shaun2003... hehe...
      Anyways...
      Going for round 2 tonight!!

Do a search on Brainwave or BWGEN. We had a really long thread going on it a couple of months ago.

      It's a really cool thing!
