      FILD Question...

So last night I was extremely tired and fell right to sleep. I woke up at about 4:30 to take a pee, and then got back into bed and started relaxing, focusing on my fan for a little bit. I then put my hand under my pillow and starting using the FILD for about 2 minutes. Relaxing my eyes was no problem and finally I stopped and plugged my nose and tried to breathe. I couldn't So I tried again and put my mind to it but still nothing.

Now my question is how can I specifically focus on my fingers' motion. I remember seeing something about it somewhere but I forgot. Could someone enlighten me?
      Thanks.

      Hey Benjamin,

I know a little bit about the technique but not much - I never tried it. I think it might mean that you simply have to visualize your fingers moving as you are moving them. The movements have to be very subtle, of course.

The official tutorial for this is here. I would try typing in "FILD" in the search feature at the top of the site (second button from left) and go from there. There's tons of hits.

I have tried FILD a few times. The one LD Iv had so far I had whale doing that but I dont think it is a resuld of FILD. Whenever I try I move my fingers and as I fall asleep. I still think that I am moveing my fingers but im not, it just feels like I am. then when I realize this I wake up abit and start to move my fingers for real again.

This technique is best done immediatly after waking up, those times in the night when you wake up, roll over and go back to sleep.

The idea is that you only really move your fingers for a few seconds and then fall asleep and dream that you are still moving them. You dont have to focus too hard on your fingers, just enough to allow yourself to fall asleep but remember to do your RC.

Getting up to take a pee probably woke you up too much to be able to fall back to sleep that quickly.

I have had real success with this technique and I have found that I can easily tell the moment I start dreaming because there is a loud popping noise and I begin to tingle all over.

      Hope this helps.

Also, it has to be done on the brink of sleep, not as soon as you close your eyes to start falling asleep!
