      Attaining Lucidity

Hi. this is my first post here. Just to let you know i m not exactly a newbie to lucidity. I know a lot about it but i's just that i cant attain lucidity ( or at least i dont remember doing it ). I was wondering if you could share some methods other than the one that involves getting into the habit of asking yourself if u r dreaming ( i have heard that one a million times ). I would also like to know if any of those stimulating eye sleep patch things or those cd's work. And if the method about getting into the habit of asking ureself is the best or only way please say so. Ty

      Hey Metallica,

Most important piece of the puzzle - dream recall!. You gotta remember your dreams. First step in doing this is keeping a dream journal.

Ah, there's plenty of techniques out there. I could list off a few here but why do that when there's a page dedicated to techniques and tutorials here.

If you're looking for a technique in which you have a bit more control over actually slipping into a lucid dream I'd start looking at the WILD and WBTB techniques. I'd also recommend our Attaining Lucidity section (if you haven't been there already).

There are also some supplements / vitamins / herbs (which we don't really advocate here) that could help with dream recall, vividness and even lucidity. You'll come across some of those throughout our forum, I'm sure.

After looking through those feel free to PM me or any other staff member with any other specific questions - or just post them here if you're looking to draw in a larger response.
